🐾✨ Chewie's Comeback Story ✨🐾

Meet Chewie! ❤️

Back in April, Chewie came to see us for some significant skin issues that were causing her a lot of discomfort. Her skin infection was severe enough that we needed to perform a thorough clip and cleaning to properly treat the affected areas.

Historically, Chewie has never been a fan of having her face touched, which made it difficult for us to safely and comfortably address all of her skin concerns. To ensure she received the care she needed without added stress, we elected to sedate her for the procedure.

The results have been amazing!

At her two-week recheck appointment, Chewie was a completely different dog. Her hair was growing back beautifully, her skin was healing nicely, and most importantly, she was feeling so much better.

Even more rewarding? Chewie allowed our team to touch her face without hesitation—a sign of just how much more comfortable she is now that her painful skin infection has been treated. 🥰

Stories like Chewie's are a wonderful reminder that behavioral changes can sometimes be linked to underlying medical issues. When pets are uncomfortable or in pain, they may become sensitive to handling. Once that discomfort is addressed, their true personalities can shine through again.

We're so proud of Chewie and thrilled to see her feeling happier, healthier, and more comfortable in her own skin!

Important facts about microchips!
Each year, hundreds of thousands of stray cats are found & brought to shelters throughout the Unites States.
Only 2% of cats are returned to their owners if they are not microchipped. Compared to 40% of cats that are microchipped are returned to their home.
The percentage of returned cats would be much higher if they all had correct registration information.
If they can’t contact you, your cat can still end up in the shelter microchipped.
Reminder: Make sure the registration is correct and up to date!
