The Biggest Bean! + honorable mentions
Gelding horses and donkeys can get a collection of oils and skin cells in the pocket around their urethra that is commonly referred to as a bean. Most of the time a horse shows no signs of discomfort but occasionally a bean can get so large that it can cause behavioral issues or even impact normal urination. This is why it is recommended to clean your geldings sheath regularly. We offer discounted sheath cleanings with our dental procedures so that we can get a really good clean and remove any beans while your horse is sedated. This bean was removed from an older gelding after his dental. He was showing no signs but I’m sure he felt a whole lot better!

I may be a little biased but this little munchkin wins the cutest newborn this year!
My favorite appointments are newborn exams and they were even more special this year with my own baby along for the ride!

For our day 2 patient shout out:
Cleo was donated to us as a teaching goat after she broke her leg. Since the fracture was too high up for a cast, the leg had to be amputated. We took her in and a young vet was able to do her first amputation under the guidance of Dr. T. Her procedure went great and when she was healed up, she found her permanent home among our teaching herd. She has settled in great and has been a warm addition to the pasture. She can be seen hopping around with another 3 legged companion, Tulip.

In the past year we’ve seen over 1000 patients across 10 different species for everything from annual vaccines to emergency surgeries. We’ve driven over 30,000 miles across 10+ counties to see our patients. We’ve grown our families and our team and we’re so happy that you all have been along for the ride with us.
