Dog Boarding Behind the Scenes
Part 9 — Check-Out Day

Then comes everybody’s favorite part: going home. 🐾

At check-out, some dogs are bouncing off the walls to see their people.Others are tired from their stay.
And some act like absolutely nothing unusual happened. 😂

Every dog is different. Our job is to make sure they had a safe, comfortable stay while you were away.

Dog Boarding Behind the Scenes
Part 8 — Safety Starts Before Check-In

Good boarding care starts before your dog ever walks through the door.

At The Dog Watchers, we require current records for:
•Rabies
• DHPP
• Bordetella

We also want to know about medications, feeding routines, behavior concerns, and special care needs.

Those details help us provide safer, more individualized care.

🐾 Meet Rolo, the new boss at The Dog Watchers! 🐾

Apparently, all it takes to get promoted around here is to claim the manager’s chair and look like you mean business. 😂

Rolo has officially taken over the office, and judging by that expression, I don't think he's accepting any challenges to his authority.

His first executive order? More treats, more belly rubs, and fewer interruptions during nap time! 🐶👔

Dog Boarding Behind the Scenes
Part 7 — Nervous Dogs

Some dogs walk in like they own the place. Others need a little time. A new environment can take some adjustment.

If your dog is nervous, has anxiety, mobility concerns, special handling needs, or particular behaviors we should know about, tell us before their stay.

The more we understand your dog, the better we can care for them.

Dog Boarding Behind the Scenes
Part 6 — Live Video Access

You don’t have to wonder what your dog is doing. 📹🐾
One of our favorite features of suite boarding at The Dog Watchers is Live Video Access.

Check in and you might find your dog snoozing on the bed, stretched out on the floor, or completely ignoring the comfortable bedding you thought they’d love. 😂 Either way, you can see for yourself how they’re settling in.

Dogs may be listening more closely than we think. 🐾🧠

New research suggests dogs can pick up recurring sound patterns in continuous speech — even when the “words” are completely made up. It doesn’t mean they understand those words, but it does suggest their brains are doing some pretty sophisticated pattern-tracking.

At The Dog Watchers, we’re always interested in what science is teaching us about how dogs think, learn, and experience the world around them.

Definitely worth a read for fellow dog people. 🐶

Dog Boarding Behind the Scenes
Part 5 — Meals & Medications

Keeping some things familiar can make boarding easier.
We follow the feeding instructions you provide and try to keep your dog’s normal routine as consistent as possible.

If your dog takes medication, clear instructions and properly labeled medication help us make sure everyone knows exactly what your dog needs.

A smooth stay starts with good information.
