Pet Helpers, Inc We also want to educate pet owners on the importance of spaying and neutering. Pet Helpers, Inc. is a registered 501c3 Non-Profit pet rescue.

A dedicated group of volunteers, in the Fairmont WV area, striving to locate forever homes for rescued animals, as well as offering other assistance and support services. We are a foster-based rescue and all pets live in homes with a volunteer until their forever home is found. We do not have a facility. You can visit our pets at adoption events or by appointment. We assist with public spay/neuter

through grants. Our volunteers are involved with several area schools to provide early education in the proper care of pets. Pet Helpers operates solely on adoption fees and public donations, we have no paid staff.

These little Parti Yorkie brothers are Leo and Theo they are 6 months old Leo the little one with the stand up all the time ears is 6 lbs, Theo can stand his ears up and put them down and is 8 lbs. They came from a shelter in the southern part of the state. Both boys are sweet and friendly. They have been neutered, heart worm lyme tested negative, been vaccinated (dhlpp, lyme, bordatella and rabies) dewormed, treated for fleas with Simparica trio and micro chipped. Remember as cute as they are that they are still puppies and will need time, patience and training, we have great local trainers in our area and can make a recommendation if you need one.
These two do not have to be adopted together. They are being fostered in Morgantown WV if you would like to give one of these kids their forever you can

Let’s talk about Bruno — Bruno has recovered from his eye removal surgery and dental. He is ready for adoption! Bruno is around 8 years old and 8 lbs. 8 is great, and we think Bruno is great, too!

Bruno is a funny guy, and a blanket burrito professional. He loves going outside for fresh air and sunshine, and is a professional blanket-hider. If you can’t find him, check under the nearest blanket. Honestly, same. If only we could all hide under a blanket.

Bruno only has two teeth. But that has never, ever stopped him from chowing down. He does prefer soft food over kibble — his two remaining teeth have standards — and soft, chewy treats. Nudges are his absolute favorite. He does NOT like to share his food. Bruno is a “please eat in another zip code” kind of diner.

Bruno does great with the other foster dogs and cats in his home, as long as no one tries to challenge him. If they do, he will inform them that he is NOT to be messed with. Two teeth, zero tolerance.

Meet Bandit he is an Australian Shepherd and a great boy. He is 10 months old (still a puppy) and 31lbs. Bandit has had a rough couple of months being passed around from place to place and finally landed where he should have when he was given away the first time. A lot of people cannot meet the needs of an Aussie, so we are looking for his perfect home. Do you have Aussie experience? Do you know the breed? Do you know if you have kids he will probably herd them? Do you know they are probably smarter than you? Do you hike, do you walk, would you want to take your dog to agility training? Do you want to go to puppy training to make you the best owner you can be? If you answered yes to one or more of these questions Bandit may be just what you are looking for. He is house trained, walks well on a leash, gets along well with other dogs, and he has gone to doggy daycare, but is a puppy and will need crated when you are not home. Bandit has been neutered,vaccinated, (dhpp, rabies, lyme, lepto and bordatella) heart worm lyme tested negative dewormed, flea treated and microchipped. Don't apply because he is beautiful apply because you are willing to put the time and effort in to make him a fantastic dog. Meet the absolutely adorable Sonnie!

Sonnie is approximately 6 months old and currently weighs 29 lbs.

We definitely think he has some kind of hound mix in him, and he is one handsome boy!

Sonnie is so well behaved! He has puppy energy and loves to play, but he isn’t crazy or overly wild. He is doing amazing with housebreaking, is crate trained, and gets along wonderfully with all the other dogs in his foster home.
Sonnie loves toys, playing, and making friends with everyone. And when playtime is over, he can be quite the cuddler.

He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and negative for heartworm and Lyme Disease.

We got a call about a dog abandoned in an apartment. We were told she was a 60-lb black Lab.

She wasn’t.

When we arrived, we found a much larger dog — maybe a Lab mix — shut down and broken. We couldn’t leave her there.

Meet Lola.

She’s shy, scared, but incredibly sweet. She has skin issues that need treatment and she still needs to be spayed vaccines etc. We’re praying she isn’t already pregnant.

Right now, Lola is safe in foster, and is taking treats from her foster’s hand and learning to trust. It’s clear she may have been mistreated.
