It’s Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day… a chance to reflect on the pets we’ve lost along the way but still live on in our hearts. Today I celebrate my Sully (2005-2021).

I found this dog as a veterinary student in 2007. He was days from euthanasia. After being pulled from the shelter his job was use as a live specimen for X-rays in a foreign veterinary licensing exam and then that was it.

He welcomed my husband and all three of my children. He was a credentialed therapy dog serving veterans in a VA nursing home. He taught countless veterinary students and vet tech students over the course of my career. He donated blood to dying puppies. He did everything we ever asked of him with grace, patience, and a wagging tail. This dog contributed so much to our profession and loved our family so well. We spoiled him rotten for it.

There will never be another like him… missing this boy BIG!

Let’s talk lab work!! Diagnostics are an important part of your pet’s health care. Our in house laboratory equipment allows same day information (usually within ten minutes!). We use our equipment for urgent cases, pre-op lab testing, or any time convenience is preferred.

Thankfully we also have access to a state of the art reference laboratory! Our reference laboratory offers a much wider range of diagnostics. Sometimes we may suggest testing through the reference lab. In this circumstance the option is to access MORE information… sometimes at less cost to you! It is a win/win when it’s safe to wait a day for those results.

IDEXX supports us well with fast, accurate testing and resources for interpretation, consultation, and education. We are grateful to be able to pass that care along to your pets!

It’s HOT 🥵!! Hope everyone is finding ways to keep cool! Remember to keep those pets indoors, exercise only in the early morning or late evening, and provide LOTS of fresh water!! Pavement may be hot to touch, check surfaces before allowing your pet to walk on them. Stay safe out there!

It’s National Mutt Day!! There are A LOT of dog breeds represented in my home…. We couldn’t pick just one 🤣. I can assure you they are 100% spoiled! What breeds make up your mutts??

We can add Siberian ✅ to our growing list of purebred cat patients! This little angel stole our hearts pretty quickly. 😻.
