CAT OF THE DAY! Malawi!

Hi everybody, I’m Malawi! I’m an 11-month-old female domestic shorthair cat. I came to BAC after being abandoned with almost 30 other cats. I am learning to enjoy myself here and would appreciate a calm home that can grow my confidence. Apply for me today!

Kennels are open Monday-Saturday 11-3:00 pm. Adoptions are still taking place BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, so we recommend coming to the kennels to view the animals only if you are planning to fill out an application. You MUST include proof of home ownership or notarized letter from your landlord WITH your application to be considered. Applications will be reviewed and pre-approved for a subsequent meet and greet/adoption appointment.

🐈 Attention cat parents! Did you know there are over 800 tick species worldwide — and about a dozen of them can make your cat seriously ill? Ticks lurk in vegetation and can attach within minutes of climbing onto your kitty. Once attached, they can transmit life-threatening diseases. (Read this poster from Cornell Feline Health Center for disease and symptom specifics!)

The good news? Prevention is straightforward. Keep cats indoors when possible, and use only feline-approved tick prevention products — never a dog product on a cat. They come in spot-on, oral, and collar forms, but only prescription versions will work.
