Where your cat is treated like royalty! AristoKatz is a full service hospital that caters exclusively to cats needs. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.

We understand how cats think and have designed the hospital with their wishes in mind. There are many windows for them to enjoy the scenery, and the exam tables are constructed with warm, Corian countertops. If you must wait, choose from a variety of beverages while watching television in our airy waiting room, which is also a free WiFi spot, or browse in our retail therapy area. We want you and your cats to have the most pleasant experience possible.

One minute, they’re curled up beside you purring. The next?

HISS. SWAT. CHOMP. SCRATCH. OUCH! Uh-oh. What’s possessed my sweet baby?

Before you declare that Fluffy has officially joined the dark side, ask yourself., “What is my cat trying to tell me?” Sometimes the cat who suddenly seems to be picking fights isn't being difficult. They're having a difficult time. 🐾

Aggression can be connected to anxiety, frustration, feeling threatened, not feeling well, changes in the environment or simply not getting enough opportunities to play and satisfy those very important feline hunting instincts.

Figuring that out means looking at the whole picture—your cat's history, environment, behavior and, when appropriate, their physical health.

Hairballs aren’t the only reason for a cat cough.

Coughing can be related to asthma or allergies, respiratory infections, parasites, heartworm disease or other lung problems.

If your cat is repeatedly coughing, see your vet to determine what's going on. Addressing a cough early helps ensure proper treatment and better long-term outcomes.

Welcome to the cat zoomies. 😹 Cats may zoom to burn off pent-up energy, engage their natural hunting instincts, or after using the litter box to celebrate feeling lighter.

Encourage healthy outlets with short play sessions, wand toys, puzzle feeders, and plenty of opportunities to chase, pounce and play.

And yes, your cat may still choose to do all of that at 2:17 a.m.
It’s a cat’s world. We just live here!

Is your cat suddenly scratching or grooming more than usual?

As the seasons change, some cats may develop itchy or irritated skin from allergies or other environmental irritants.

Seasonal allergies and other irritants can cause cats to:
🐾 Lick, chew, or aggressively groom themselves
🐾 Scratch or develop irritated skin
🐾 Lose fur or develop small sores
🐾 Develop recurring skin or ear problems

Cats are such regular groomers, so you may not notice a problem right away. But you know your cat — if you observe a persistent change in your cat’s skin, coat, or daily habits, check in with Dr. Katz.

You’re petting your kitty and feel something different protruding or under that skin and start to worry.

Discovering lumps are part of pet ownership. Many are benign and treatable, but they are worth checking out—for your cat’s long-term health and your peace of mind.

For example, a lump near your cat’s ni**le may seem small, but mammary cancer in cats can be very aggressive, so early diagnosis and intervention is important.

Be mindful:
🐾 Check for changes. When you’re petting your cat, gently watch for new lumps or unusual swelling along the chest and belly.
🐾 Don’t wait and see. If you find a new lump, schedule an exam even if your cat seems completely fine.
🐾 Spaying a female cat before her first heat cycle can significantly reduce the risk of mammary cancer later in life.

A visit with Dr. Katz about that new bump can put your mind at ease and give you more knowledge about your pet.
