Over the past ten years we have gotten to know many of the area rescues, animal advocates, shelter and animal control employees. SOCKs: Save Our Cats & Kittens has done some incredible work in Solano County for the most vulnerable. Now we need to show up for them.
The founders lost their home and some of their fur babies in an electrical fire a few weeks ago. They estimate their home wonโt be habitable for at least a year as they rebuild. What they need most now is funds versus items as they donโt have a place to store everything. Funds will allow them to buy supplies and get medical for the cats as they need it. Every dollar helps. โค๏ธ
It has been one week since an accidental and devastating fire took our home and the physical space where our rescue lived.
While our hearts are completely shattered over the loss of three precious kittens who we tried desperately to save, we are holding onto immense gratitude that all of our other rescue and personal cats were brought out to safety.
Itโs a harrowing story weโll share more in depth about soon.
Everyone is currently safe, receiving care, and adjusting after the chaos.
We are grieving deeply for the physical walls and the sweet lives we lost, but our mission to protect these vulnerable kittens remains unbroken.
We have been completely overwhelmed by the beautiful wave of love, prayers, and donations that have flooded in over the last seven days.
To everyone who has reached out, donated, or shared our story: thank you from the very bottom of our hearts.
Your kindness is the foundation keeping us standing right now, and it is directly helping us provide medical care, food, and temporary shelter for our surviving cats.
The immediate future remains unsettled, but we are safe, we are rebuilding, and we couldn't do this without this incredible community behind us.
With our Love & Gratitude,
The Cat Daddy, MeowMa (& SkinSon!??๐)

๐ฅบ๐ฅบThis is a photo of the shirt Mike wore during the fire. Firefighters were bringing out the kitties, that we had not been able to find/save. The first cat brought out was unrecognizable. And struggling to breathe! Mike grabbed him first, and somehow, the kitty left a paw print on his Cat Daddyโs heart. That kitty was Murray!
Murray was the first kitten we rescued, and we created this rescue because there was no one saving kitties like him!
(Also thank you to our Neighbors who surrounded us with love. And towels for the kitties.โค๏ธ)
