🐾 She couldn’t tell us what was wrong… but she sure knew how to ask for help! 🐾
This sweet girl started barking at her owner and holding one of her feet up, making it very clear that something wasn’t right. 🐶❤️

Thankfully, her owner listened to her—and brought her to Jermantown Animal Hospital for a checkup.

During her exam, we discovered hard material lodged between her toes, causing her quite a bit of discomfort. Once we carefully removed the material and addressed the irritated area, she was on her way to feeling much more comfortable. 🐾✨

It’s amazing how smart our pets are. They may not be able to say, “Excuse me, my paw hurts,” but they have their own ways of communicating with us!

A lifted paw, limping, licking, hiding, changes in appetite, or even an unusual bark can be your pet’s way of saying:

“Hey… I need you to pay attention.” 🥹🐾

And sometimes, listening to those little clues can make a BIG difference.

At Jermantown Animal Hospital, we believe veterinary visits should be compassionate, gentle, and as low-stress as possible. Our team follows Fear Free principles to help make veterinary care a more comfortable experience for our patients, and we’re currently working toward our Fear Free certification. 💕🐶🐱

Need veterinary care? We also welcome WALK-INS! 🩺🐾
If your pet suddenly isn’t acting like themselves, is limping, holding up a paw, or showing another unexpected change, give us a call or stop by. We’re here to help. ❤️

Because healthy pets are happy pets—and pets who feel safe deserve just as much care.

📍 Proudly caring for pets and their families in Fairfax and the surrounding Northern Virginia communities.

This sweet pup is enjoying some well-deserved free time, happily playing with a cube treat and making the most of their boarding stay. Because boarding isn’t just about a cozy place to rest — it’s also about keeping those tails wagging, minds engaged, and hearts happy! 🐶✨

Playtime, treats, cuddles, and lots of love… just another happy day while boarding! 🦴🐾 ‼️💔 #🦴🐾

Ever wonder what a small oral growth looks like? Watch as Dr. Johnson carefully removes Charlie's Nasopharyngeal polyp . While this procedure is shown in real time, it's a wonderful example of how a relatively small surgery can make a big difference in a pet's comfort and quality of life.
✨ Meet Charlie! ✨
Sweet Charlie came to see us because she was breathing loudly and something just didn't seem quite right. We discovered a Nasopharyngeal polyp —a small growth in the back of her throat that made breathing uncomfortable and difficult.
Dr. Johnson carefully removed the polyp during a short procedure, and we're happy to report she Charlie did wonderfully! 💕 She's now on the road to a much more comfortable life.
Sometimes pets don't show obvious signs of pain. Subtle changes like:🐾 Dropping food while eating🐾 Bad breath🐾 Pawing at the mouth🐾 Eating more slowly🐾 Decreased grooming🐾 Hiding or acting less social..can all be clues that something is bothering them.
At Jermantown Animal Hospital, we're here to help with everything from routine wellness care to advanced diagnostics and surgery. Whether it's a small oral growth like Charlie's or something more complex, our experienced team is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care every step of the way.
If you've noticed any changes in your pet's eating habits or comfort, don't wait—we'd be happy to help.
📞 Call us to schedule an appointment and let us help keep your pet smiling!
❤️ Great medicine. Gentle hands. Personalized care.
