For more than a year, we have been trying to find Luke and Hummus the forever home they deserve. We've shared photos, written posts, created diary entries, featured them at adoption events, and we've taken them along on our daily adventures—yet these wonderful boys have received zero adoption applications. We simply refuse to give up on them. This new video captures the personalities we have come to love so much: their charm, their friendship, and the joy they bring every day. Help Needed at our East Fairfax PetSmart Adoption Center!

Our rescue cats need a volunteer to help sanitize and refresh their cages between occupancies — creating a clean, calm space for the next feline guest. The work is simple, meditative, and deeply appreciated by both cats and humans alike.

Its What About Me Wednesday and for almost two full weeks we have shared the story of Luke and Hummus across social media . These boys are heading into one full year in rescue and still they are without a home Could this be the lucky week? We have now found out that their dedicated fosters are embarking on a major house renovation and the boys will have to move soon

📍Flat Luke & Hummus Adventures — Day 1

Since these boys are still waiting for their forever home after more than a year, they’ve decided they’re no longer sitting around waiting… they’re coming along on my daily adventures instead! 😸

Today was a VERY exciting day for Luke and Hummus.

First stop: a facial appointment! 🧖‍♀️
The boys learned all about self-care, relaxation, and glowing skin. Luke was especially interested in the warm towels, while Hummus believes cucumbers should only be used as snacks.

Next stop: wedding dress shopping with my son’s fiancée! 👰✨
The boys took their role very seriously and provided emotional support, style opinions, and occasional dramatic reactions from the sidelines. They would like everyone to know they fully support sequins, lace, and long trains.

At the end of the day, Luke and Hummus headed home wishing they had a forever family to share these kinds of special moments with every day. ❤️

Last week, we shared “Diary Entries” from Luke and Hummus — a glimpse into the daily lives of two wonderful boys who have now spent OVER A YEAR waiting for someone to choose them.

We showed their personalities. Their routines. Their hopes. Their silly moments. Their quiet moments.

And still… no adoption applications.

So this week, we’re trying something new.

Since Luke and Hummus are still waiting, they’re officially joining me on my daily adventures “Flat Stanley” style! 🧳📸 Over the next week, these boys will be tagging along through everyday life — errands, work, coffee runs, relaxing at home, and wherever else the day takes us.

Why? Because these cats deserve to be SEEN. They deserve to be part of someone’s daily routine. Someone’s family. Someone’s life.

Luke and Hummus aren’t just shelter cats. They are companions waiting for their people. And until they find them, we’ll keep showing the world exactly why they are so special. ❤️
