💔Missy has been with us for ONE YEAR💔

As of today, Missy has been with us for a full year with no adoption interest! 😞

We honestly don’t understand why she’s being overlooked. 🤷🏻‍♀️ She’s absolutely gorgeous with her brindle fur and as sweet as can be! She’s 9 years old and 80 lbs, but she is still very much a puppy at heart. 🐕 She loves going on walks, hunting squirrels, napping in the sun, and cuddling her people! 🤩

Missy is really hoping there is an awesome adopter out there that will give her a forever home. 🙏

Let’s taco bout Rooster! 🌮🐶🐓

Rooster is about 3 years old and 15 lbs. He’s very much your typical small dog with a big personality! And some of those personality traits have made finding him a home a little difficult.

With HIS people (emphasis on HIS), pups and cats he’s amazing! He’s a master cuddler and wants nothing more than to be on your lap all day long. He loves playing with toys and his doggy friends, is housebroken and crate trained.

With strangers, it’s a different story. He is leash reactive to dogs outside and doesn’t want the attention of strangers. This makes meet & greets impossible, he needs time to settle!

Rooster went to a potential adopter over the weekend, and while it wasn’t a match, we learned so much! He was scared at first, but within a few hours he was exploring the house. He came out of his shell quickly and made friends with the resident dog and ignored the cats. By the time we picked him up he was happily accepting attention from the potential adopter.

Halloween 🎃 is right around the corner and there’s nothing as fun as having a little bestie to dress up!

Jet and Hazelnut will happily wear any costume you want to put them in, in exchange for a nice family of their own. 🙌

Jet and Hazelnut are 3-month old littermates who were dumped with over 12 dogs in Southern Virginia. 🥺 Despite being let down by humans, these two love people. ❤️

💛ISO adopter with a heart of gold! 💛

Jaq is about 3 years old and 10 lbs. Jaq came from what we can only imagine was either a hoarding or backyard breeding situation (maybe both). 🥺 Like most dogs that lived without any human interaction, Jaq doesn't understand how to be a "dog" and is very slow to trust. 😢

This precious Chinese Crested is a very frightened little soul who finds much of the world overwhelming. He needs a special person with a gentle heart, an abundance of patience, and lots and lots of love to help him feel safe. 🙏

Jaq is not a dog for everyone, and we want to be honest about that. He has been in a few foster homes since January and progress has been slow. But he has made baby steps. 🐾 He will let you hold him (if you catch him), will follow you around the house, and will engage in play with other dogs. 🥰

We are hopeful that there is an adopter with a big heart willing to give Jaq a home and the love he deserves.

Archie is just old enough that he doesn’t get the “puppy” attention but he id still very much a puppy at ❤️!

Archie is a year old and 40 lbs. He's a sweet guy that has had a rough start at life. Despite being chained outside and malnourished for most of his life 😢, he is super friendly with others and has so much love to give. He loves dogs, people, and has done well with cats.

He is still learning to trust people, and can be shy at first, but once he does he is a playful and cuddly pup. 🐶 He would do very well with a resident dog that can help build his confidence and play with him. He is making progress with house training and walking on a leash. 🙌 He's crate trained, smart and food motivated. He would love a home that continues to foster the safety, and trust-building that he deserves. With the proper patience, love, and guidance/training, Archie will be a loyal and wonderful life-long best friend. 😘🐕

How has no one fallen in love with this wrinkly face, tiny eared, beautiful boy⁉️

Honestly, when it comes to breed mixes, this could be the cutest one yet!

At 40 lbs, Banjo is a pint sized pup that thinks he’s one of the big boys. 🐕‍🦺 Banjo is about 3 years old and was found as a stray. He takes a minute to warm up to strangers, but once he knows you he will be your BF for life. 🤗 What we do know is that he is dog friendly, people friendly, loves his walks, play times, is crate trained, housebroken, and is learning leash manners. 🤩 He’s young, energetic, and still very puppy-like. 🐾

A huge thank you to everyone that donated to our quilt raffle!

We raised over $5,500 that will go directly to the vet care of Virginia’s most at-risk dogs. 🥰

Congratulations to Stacy Tignor for winning the most adorable Halloween quilt. 🎃 Not only did Stacy donate to our medical fund, but she is one of our amazing fosters (Queso and Jaq are currently lucky to be in Stacy’s care)! 🐕

Animal welfare quite literally takes a village, and without our donors, fosters, adopters, volunteers and followers, we would not be here. 😇 We appreciate everyone of you! ❤️

Puppy Shark 🦈 🐶🐾

Hazelnut is 2 months old and 8 lbs. She was abandoned with a dozen other dogs and her littermates in Southern VA. Despite being let down by humans, she holds no grudges and is just happy that she's being given a second chance.

Hazelnut is the runt of her litter and such a cute little girl. She will let you know when it's time to eat, is getting good at going potty outside, and loves playing with her littermates. She sleeps through the night in her crate and has the sweetest personality.
