I've been in (1) hospital (2) rehab & (3) friends care since July 5th, when I fell at a client's house and broke my left femur and left arm above the wrist. I always hoped for time off from work but not this way. I've had time to watch 2 seasons (5 to go) of Orange is the new black. Oh My! and the DNC. Both have exciting moments but I''ll put my vote for Crazy Eyes. I get up a few times a day and do my leg exercises and reach for my walker to get to the bathroom and not fall. Hopes are to send me home mid-Sept. with only need to use my "Tim" Cane and no more walker! Then be back at visiting my kitty clients by Oct. 1st. Just have to cut out any flights of stairs where there are no railings. Time for me to start thinking Safety First and how to get up and down off the floor when playing with cats. We must hire 10 new sitters by end of Sept to be able to cover through the holidays. Chris and I swear we will not each take 12-16 visits per day from Dec 12-31, as we have over the past 4 years so telling current clients to book now if they are 80% sure they need us, book in advance now. Being sick is much worse than recouping and working to regain strength so I am thankful for that issue and apologize to any client we have to say No Sitters are available at this time so MAKE A PLAN B. Hope my next update will be all good news and back to seeing our kitty clients. Best to everyone.

We see every old and new product with the variety of homes we visit. So many litters, litter boxes, scoops, etc. What works best for you home or cat, how do you know what's best with so many options. I am going to post some lists that are on line for what seems to be The Best of certain style or ease of use on products. I have worked with each of these boxes in many homes and as much as I love the robot self cleaning system; I definitely don't recommend it. We can tell from a cat's p*e or p**p a lot about their health. The robot cleans the litter within minutes and if you have more than one cat, you'll never know what may be going on that needs your attention. Let us know what has, or hasn't, worked well for you and your cats.

Looking for a loving home!

Alex is a 12 year old neutered male Chihuahua that came to us after his elderly owner passed away recently. He is up to date on vaccines and just had a dental done on Thursday. Despite not having many teeth left, he is a great eater!

Alex was the companion to his owner for the last 12 years and is used to someone being around for the majority of the day. He is fine with cats and other small dogs and has not shown any aggression since being in our care. Alex is currently low maintenance for an older dog and doesn't have any major health concerns. He would love to find his new person to shower in affection.

With fewer sitters working, and actively looking for new people; much younger people around 40-70; this should explain why. It's been a long, hard 4 years (20-24) for myself and other sitters who have worked hard. Here are some of the reasons why we are all a bit slower these days and I hope you all get a laugh. By the time I got to the end, I was LOL with tears. Not from laughing but because I hurt from each one of these items. If you do too, let's all meet up and laugh till we cry. Thank you to all our sitters and clients who keep going and going and to the human and kitty clients who keep coming. It's March and my daffodils are blooming so spring is right under our feet.

It's almost holiday travel time and AuPurr is so overbooked. We just love our kitty clients and can't say no, and suddenly, sitters are doing 15+ visits per day. We set up our routes to make it the most efficient and traffic is great over the holiday so we are all trying to make it, safely, to your house. I could hire 10 temp or part time sitters and give them each a full route but, like every other company I talk with, in all fields, no one wants to work the way we need them. So we'll be starting at 7 AM and moving all day until around 10 PM but we'll make sure your cat(s) are loved, cared for, clean food-water-litter and, when time permits, a good cheek scratch. We'll try to text or email you ever few days between visits and give kisses everyday from Mom and/or Dad but know the love we get back in blinks, headbutts and purrs is All I Want For Christmas. And if SantaCat should find a group of kittens (3-5 with Mom) who are looking for a good home; AuPurr hopes to adopt by spring. We need a break after Thanksgiving and Christmas but we need the right cat(s) to join our family.

So here's wishing all of you a safe holiday. Keep ribbons away from kitty unless you are holding on to the other end and we'll try to make everyone Happy. And Thank You for choosing AuPurr Cat Care for your baby (and the other 2000 who get the same care).
