Special Delivery to Ryan Plummer of his Ontario black bear that we rugged. Beautiful coat of hair on this one! We are growing and looking to expand into the bear rugging market. A majority of taxidermist send off their rugs to be upholstered elsewhere, but, with the collaboration of a local quilting professional, we are able to keep everything in house.

I wanna wish everyone a very safe and successful turkey season, especially to the youth tomorrow morning!

As always, I will be taking in fan mounts, wing mounts, and, new to this year, feather boards.

Pricing is as follows

Basic fan with spurs and beard: $85

With wings + $50
With skull +$35
With whole feet +$25

Feathers boards will be starting around $275.

I am newer to that aspect so pricing according to experience currently but prices will rise after this year on those.

My recommendations for a full body turkey mount this year will be to go see Caiden Jett at Jett’s taxidermy. He’s learned from one of the best and will steer you straight!

Good luck, everyone!

In other news, Korde’s Taxidermy is proud to announce that we’ve been commissioned to taxidermy the very first Bigfoot ever harvested in Missouri!

This tag was given out by a very exclusive and hard to apply for draw system that local citizen, Keith Skopec, was fortunate obtain. While many details remain classified at this time, the general rumor is that, Keith, having spent the whole night before rolling around in possum dens, coated himself in a unique mixture of horse and otter hair mixed with bacon grease. He then learned from YouTube the ultimate mating call of a female Bigfoot and stationed himself at an undisclosed piece of timber where bigfeet are often spoken of frequenting (if you ask the guys eating lunch at Hannah’s midday).

It was 7:05 am when Keith let out the first alluring call and by 7:08 the this incredible bull Bigfoot appeared a mere 20 feet from Keith and groping aggressively towards him. With this being the very peak season of the Sasquatch rut, Keith would later lament his regret over choosing to use his 22 Creedmore and an 88gr bullet to hunt bigfeet. He was trying to prove a point to other gun enthusiast online that shot selection triumphs over power, but after he unloaded the entire magazine into the Ape-like creature, a hand-to-hand skirmish occurred. Not much has been reported on the details of this battle, but all I know is Keith just stares blankly off into the distance now and says he doesn’t want to talk about that part. All I do know for certain is that at some point, Keith was able to stab his way to victory over the 9 ft tall creature with his Swiss Army knife that took some time to pull out of his hunting pack!

When asked about the taste or texture of a Sasquatch, Keith said is better off prepared as a jerky more than anything.

This will be a full-body mount that will be displayed at an undisclosed but future date at Korde’s taxidermy for a while. The animal will be posed to eventually take permanent residence at Keith’s home to serve as a toilet paper roll dispenser.

Stay tuned next April for more details!

We’ve not been capturing a lot of pictures here lately, but here’s a few that have left from the shop! Thanks to everyone for the business.

We are currently sitting about 5 weeks behind original projections. Slowly gaining time back but it just simply is how things played out coming into the new year and finishing up all of gun season euros and last year projects. I appreciate your patience!

It was real fun working with Jeremy on his buck. He built his own pedestal and lighting and I did the habitat (he provided the limb). After several back and forth texts and calls about the exact placement of his deer’s swivel bracket on the limbs(there’s going to be a second buck added this year) , Jeremy created this gif and I love it. I’m always happy to work with anyone that can have a sense humor about things!

A tremendous thanks goes out to Misty for allowing me to full-body mount her 400 pound stud of a bear. It was a long, drawn out, and tedious project because bears are always challenging but we got this old monarch, that was just shy of Boone and Crockett scoring, wrapped up.

If you know me, you know these are my favorite animals on planet earth!
