Well… we did it! Seven of us spent the entire night inside the kennels for Thanksgiving 2025!

We kicked things off by serving Thanksgiving dinners to every dog in the shelter, then set up our sleeping arrangements right inside the kennels.

Was it comfy? 🤔 Honestly… not as bad as we expected. Was it quiet? Definitely not. 🗣️ (We were under a freeway and surrounded by almost 200 dogs.)

We’re grateful we could bring warmth and company to the dogs who spent their holiday here instead of in a home. A single person may not change the whole world - but you can change the world for the one right in front of you. That’s the heart of Front Street. 💜

Because we were there all night, we were able to give one-on-one attention to every single dog and cat with dog and cat-friendly Thanksgiving plates. And since our kennels were right across from the laundry room, we kept the washers and dryers going through the night to help the next day’s staff and volunteers start off a little less overwhelmed.

Because of your generosity, we raised over $16,000 through our Thanksgiving dinner donations, all ahead of Giving Tuesday, one of our biggest fundraisers of the year.
