I wanted to highlight a special team....

🐾Elise and Winnie🐾

Winnie (Formerly Sindia) was the first puppy to go home out of the Ocean City NJ Litter. Elise knew how to and what socialization is, so she got her before the 12 week mark.

Elise trained and worked with Winnie diligently. She did this while finishing her college education and Winnie was an excellent SDiT on campus.

On May 9, 2026, Winnie accompanied Elise as she received her degree! I am so proud and honored to be the breeder behind this team and cheer every accomplishment they have had. I look forward to hearing all about life and how they grow to off campus.

Congratulations!!

What a long day!! I brought Miss Jilly to meet sheep today!! She had such fun!! She also got a handful of titles. She earned her Farm Dog Certification, Temperament Test, Canine Good Citizen and Advanced Community Canine. They are all sent in to AKC. Jilly's first airport training. She really did well. Actually , I am beyond proud of this girl! I had to go to Myrtle Beach today, so this was unscheduled. She did not go through TSA yet, though I have contact info to set that up. Gallagher's little mini me is wearing her Auntie Lollipop's first vest. This was just about exposure. Introduction of sights, sounds, some people hurrying. We did a block for a kiosk check in, she had a great heart rate alert and response, staying nice and quiet under the seats, having her remain under as I got up and walked around the seats, for a real life to pick up something your traveling toddler may have thrown, for example. The handler that Jilly has been matched with does air travel, so I want to make sure nothing will pop up before she finishes training with her other trainer.

Also, apparently I recorded in slow motion.... 🤣

I suck at basic technology.

Someone has been doing good on PA!! Jilly has been to Food Lion, where we faked a stumbling/cardiac response and was perfect. She stay with handler, Sat in lap, head against heart alternating with face licking. She has been to the school for meetings and is at my doctor's right now where I faked another cardiac stumbling, floor drop to which she responded perfectly. She also nudged skin picking/scratching.

She is coming along!

The Hart of Fair Bluffs Collies presents...

The Hart of Fair Bluffs… Shopping On The Boards

Call Name… Jilly.

DOB 09/02/24

AKC Rough Collie, 55ish pounds. Female, spayed.

Located in NC. Training with myself (breeder) and head trainer of a facility in NC at her home.

Jilly is an SDiT who was tested by a behaviorist professionally at 7 weeks along with her littermates. Jilly tested very high for hearing alert or DAD. As she has matured, more avenues have opened up for placement.

Tasks she has mastered are:
Deep Pressure Therapy

Tasks started and are currently working through:

-Cardiac Alert (natural) that still needs shaping. -Response can be trained.
Item retrievals
-Blocking creating space between handler and other people
-repetitive stimulation response nudging and licking
-Scratching behavior interruption
-Grounding

She will leave with Advanced Obedience (CGCA and CGCU), these will be sent to AKC for formal titles)

She will leave with appropriate Service Dog Public Access skills such as..

-Go Under (chair/table)
-High Focus level
-Backing up (tight spaces, bathroom stall)
-Intelligent disobedience
-Distractions

She is doing well with Public Access Training and has appropriate behavior.

Leaving as an advanced SDiT that you will need to professionally finish. This girl can leave for a few weeks, and then go back to trainers home once her maternity leave is up. This would be a separate contract to finish, including spending several days working with her for PA, and the issuance of a PAT test

Application Process will include a video call. It may include more than one so both myself and her other trainer can speak to you.

Not only do you get Collie breeder advice for life, you also get training/problem solving advice for life. As her breeder, if something happened where you can no longer have her, she is returned to me, per contract. You may never give her, or xx.### her to anyone else.

Jilly still has puppy behaviors. Collies take 2 years to mature. That 2nd birthday makes a light flip and wakes up her brain cell. 🤣 If you are inside at home and get her over stimulated aka hyper, she could jump up, zoomies everywhere, bark her herding dog head off ect. She is an EXCELLENT SDiT. An SDiT is not a finished dog. To make that transition, we highly suggest a professional trainer. Collies are extremely intelligent and Jill is extremely capable. Not only is she food-motivated but also praise-motivated and lives to please.

Jilly will not be placed with any handler under the age of 16 for a novice handler. The ages of 13-16 may be considered if this is not a first time SD, or family/child handler has extensive knowledge of dogs.

MUST PICK UP IN PERSON!

I do have a Good Dog account, and am willing to list her there in order to process via Klarna.
Depending on timing of finding the handler best suited for Jilly, there is a chance of starting more specific tasks prior to leaving, of what her handler will need.

A Collie has more grooming needs than most dogs. You will need either a professional groom every 8 wks, or do it yourself. (They also need weekly full brush outs to keep the coat healthy and prevent matting.) This requires several brushes, nail grinder, shampoo and conditioner and buying a force air vacuum to dry. They are double-coated long hair dogs. It's 1 hr process (1.5-2 when blowing coat)They cannot be left to dry on their own.

She is spayed. She will have her vet health visit prior to leaving. She will leave on a 6 mth Pro-Heart shot to prevent heartworms, and has appropriate flea/tick control.

The Hart of Fair Bluffs...And So It Begins (Oaken)
The Hart of Fair Bluffs... Roasting In Fire (Chestnut)

GALLAGHER earned the following titles

-CGC, CGCA, CGCU

I also asked a very well known Collie judge for an exam on him. (Informal Event) He is not a conformation dog, but he did go to practice, for fun and to build numbers for friends. He did take 2nd in American Bred in a 3 dog show over a dog that had gotten 1st place in breed the previous day. This is what led me to ask for the evaluation. I knew I could never be in a ring with him she was judging.

-Ears are perked is obvious
-Droopy lip is easy to see (if I did show him, a chair lead was suggested directly behind the ears to raise the lip line and sharpen features
- Nice Top Line
- Body was technically a little too long, but was proportionate.
- Correct Muzzle
-Correct Coat
-Correct feet and leg (not high hocked)

(There was more, but will see if my friend remembers)

PIPER earned the following titles... (AKC)

-CGC
-ATT
-FDC

She also became an INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION from the IABCA

She will continue shows and trials in 2026!

OAKEN received the following titles...

-CGC
-TKN
-ATT

Happy First Birthday to the Ocean City New Jersey (OCNJ) Litter and Leo. Leo was a Gallagher/Piper and was.botn 08/30/2024. OCNJ was born on 09/02/2025 and is a Gallagher/Phoenix litter. They sure have grown into some beautiful pups. Enjoy. I will let a glow up of Shrivers when I get one.... Or feel free to comment with the update of him.

I will be giving updates on the OCNJ plus Leo soon, but first I want to highlight a very special dog.

Holly

Holly (2023 Winter Litter) was matched and sent to FL as an SDiT in Aprill/May 2024. From the beginning, this match should not have happened. I failed her. She was matched as a multiple purpose SDiTto a family who currently owns a Rough Collie, but had Collies in the past as well. This client did not follow the contract for training. There was a barrier with a hospital stay. It was during that stay that I saw many huge red flags, which were addressed. A "trainer" friend was handing Holly in the hospital and recorded her going into an elevator to go to the handlers room. There was zero skill in the video. Over treating and inappropriate behavior of Holly with the incorrect behavior getting treat, thereby cementing this as good. This was addressed immediately by me.

Handler did do some one on one video training by an appropriate, skillful and highly accomplished trainer. This was too little too late, and inconsistent follow through on the lesson being taught.

The decision was made for Holly to come home. When I met the handlers SO and Dad, what was returned was not my puppy. It was a fully reactive, fearful, dog. I was horrified.

By the time I had gotten her home, she had completely settled in the car. I brought her into the yard in a mini quarantine area, as I had puppies due soon. She was joyous to be home, to see my son. She had to have a 10 day quarantine, and I had Lollipop in with her. The behaviors the Dad told me about, did not happen at home and I tested her thoroughly on it. Such as climbing and jumping the fence, being one.

I started working with her again and got her back to her correct weight. In time, I had her back out in the community as an SDiT. However, while she would work for me 100% of the time, when I handed her off to one of my kids, who are all very capable of handling a SD/SDiT, she got nervous.

Because of this, she would either have to be placed as a fully trained SDiT and an experienced handler who has worked with 2 or more SDs in the past.

Instead, I sought out the perfect career change placement and Holly was placed at the end of March as a Therapy Dog. This is an older, experienced couple who has met Holly before and fell in love with her. I started her out in FastCat for fun before she left, and she is doing training sessions with her new Dad!!

I really like this video. I get many people asking me where ___ should be in training. Why is ____ already doing it?

Training takes TIME! For my Service Dog clients, it's a solid 2 years to be a finished dog. Keep training! You'll get there!
