The Great Goop Debate! AAEP will be hosting a webinar this Wednesday, July 15th, at 8:00pm on all things regarding skin ointment. Drs. Carrie Hammer and Nikki Scherrer will be discussing the "Goops" you should be keeping on hand for cuts, scrapes, rain rot, and those random mystery bumps! But most importantly they will be discussing the ointments and "Miracle cures" that you can pass by the next time you're at the tack store, even if that one boarder swears it cures every skin ailment under the sun.

Moore Equine will have a brief disruption in emergency coverage tomorrow, Saturday, from 5:00am-12:00pm (Noon) that is otherwise provided 24/7. Dr. Tim will be unavailable to attend emergencies during this time, but will still be available via phone. If you have an emergency during this time, Cornell Equine Hospital readily accepts patients without the need for a veterinary referral.

Friends and clients, I will again be traveling to University in Florida for the 2nd of 3 in-person sessions of acupuncture training this coming Sunday through the following Wednesday (9/21-9/24).

I have arranged on-call coverage while I am away, so if you have an emergency please contact me directly so I may facilitate an emergency visit if needed. There may be a slight delay in responding to scheduling or other non-emergency requests while I am in Florida but will do my best to respond in a prompt manner!

And as a reminder, Cornell Equine Hospital is always willing to accept emergencies at any time and does not require referrals to be seen.

Friends and clients, I will be traveling to Chi University in Florida for acupuncture training August 6th-August 10th. I am excited to be adding this treatment modality as another way to help patients! This is the first of three on-site training sessions at Chi and will be able to offer acupuncture appointments starting later this year.

Clients and Friends, a reminder that the Lorenzo Driving Competition at the historic Lorenzo estate in Cazenovia is happening this weekend (July 18th-20th)! It is one of my absolute favorite horse show to attend. I will be doing an equine chiropractic demo on Saturday the 19th at 1:00pm so please come support an amazing show and swing by to have all of your chiropractic questions answered.

Parking and entry is free, but make sure to bring a folding chair to enjoy the show from the shade. There is an amazing silent auction (Including a chiropractic adjustment including farm call up for grabs), great vendors and a food truck onsite. Plus there are tours of the mansion all weekend! So come enjoy watching a beautiful equine discipline at a beautiful show venue.

Moore Equine Veterinary is happy to announce the addition of portable gastroscopy to the repertoire of services offered by Dr. Moore! You can now have your horse scoped for gastric ulcers right at the barn without the need to ship your horse to a clinic.

Equine gastric ulcers are common occurrence sadly, especially with the stress of traveling to horse shows. Research has shown ~40-60% of pleasure horses have at least some level of ulceration within their stomach. Gastroscopy appointments are available starting next week! Ship-in gastroscope clinics will be coming this summer to the Verona and Binghamton areas.
