Happy birthday, princess Zara! I'm not sure how we ended up with such a beautiful, loving hunting machine, but we are SO glad we did! She is the best cuddle partner and just a joy to have around (and of course, a fantastic mama).

Looks alone do not make a dog worth adding to a breeding program. Temperament goes so far in setting puppies up for success and furthering this great breed, and Kenna is a shining example. Nothing bothers this dog, and she is capable of befriending anything that breathes. She is loving, caring, confident, chill, and steady, and out in the field she is just the epitome of your classic, easy going hunting dog. So yeah, she's gorgeous - but that is far from the only reason we are excited to have her as a part of our DFR family.

Happy Mother's Day to our two mama dogs, Zara and Neela! They do so much for us and though they are already quite spoiled, they will be getting some extra cuddles and snacks (and pool time) today!

On top of potty training and crate training, puppies need to learn the rules about surfaces, how to be paitent around human food, how to be paitent around doors, how to be calm in the outside world, how to settle down on their own...its a lot! But that is why the puppy stsge is not for the weak.

The puppies went on an adventure today! Letting young puppies like this see the world (safely) is super important! We take them into stores, let them watch parking lots, take them on wagon walks, and even a watch a park so that these guys get used to all sorts of sounds, smells and sights of people, cars, kids, other dogs, weather, nature etc. so that they aren't nervous or reactive out in the world as they grow up!

Of course we always use a wagon, cart, or blanket (if stationary) to protect them as they are still not yet fully vaccinated.
