We took Scooby on a trail ride today! He did very good, though he does not like to be in the front, and wants to be right up the butt of the horse in front of him. He’s so serious about it, I wonder if he was trained to do that. Good thing the horse in the front (Skipadoodle, our Icelandic) is such a mellow guy and wasn’t too upset about it. Scooby is still up for adoption 🐴

Half of me wants to keep Scooby, but the other half of me knows that I don’t even ride the horses I have. This guy is a keeper. The vet estimates Scooby to be 11-14 and possibly a Paso Fino/Morgan cross. He neck reins like a pro, and is such a gentleman. His only bad habit is that he is hard to catch but gets better the more he knows you. Scooby can be a little shy, and I think he may have had a rough handler previously, but I don’t know his past. UTD on shots, farrier work, and teeth floated.

My hope is he finds a home where he will be pampered ❤️ 35xx

So, I know nothing of llamas. My neighbor asked me work on halter breaking his llamas. This one seemed pretty mellow. I’ve never touched a llama until today, so I hope they are all this nice 😅. I did some YouTubing, and it seemed mostly similar to horses. Anyway, these were the steps I took.

This video is pretty long, but check out Scooby. We played around with him some more today. Turns out, he necks reins way better than direct reining. He also much prefers the side pull vs a bit.

These videos are just us messing around with him in the round pen. He’s such a nice guy. I’m sure he will be finding a home quick! He was pretty sweaty after, so we gave him a bath ❤️
