Everyone has a lot of questions about our board and train programs. Here's some FAQ's to help you out!
Some of them are hard because we adore our dogs. It's always hard to leave them for extended periods of time. Maybe these reminders will help. ❤️
We put everything we have into the dogs in our care. We care deeply about every dog that comes through because our goal is to better the dogs life as well as their owners'... Unless it's a foster dog then we strive to get them adoptable!
There's weekly training videos we take of the dog's progress that we share with the owners, we share social media updates (when we remember to do so 😅) when we're not swamped with training, and there's a very lengthy go home lesson at the end to make sure you understand everything. The whole goal is to better everyone's life with the dog and it's useless if the owner can't follow through. So we make sure the owner is well equipped to handle everything that might come up. Or not because they're so well trained at the end! 😎🤘🏼

Have we scared you off with BB's updates?
You shouldn't be! She has been making phenomenal progress each day, she may be challenging in certain areas, but she's a piece of cake in a lot of other areas. She's a pro at getting her nails done. In fact, she gets very excited whenever the Dremel comes out!
She is a pro at playing! She loves all things Tug, fetch, and she is more than happy to work for them with obedience and work through impulse control all for the sake of playing. Playing is life! She honestly would be perfectly content being a backyard dog who gets to play with her person throughout the day.
Her leash manners are much improved, her dog reactivity is much improved, still there, but a lot more manageable! We are excited to keep working her through it and help eradicate it.
She is wonderful off leash! She is attentive to her handler, eager to work for recall for food, she can switch drives really well. And she adores biking off leash!

So don't be scared off of her! If you want a dog that you can work through some challenges with, knowing that the outcome is going to be so worth it, she might be for you!
She's fun, Goofy, playful, eager to work, and smart as a whip. Maybe you should consider fostering or adopting this sweetheart!
She comes fully trained, comes with tons of training videos, and follow-up training sessions. Let us know if you are interested!

Mr. Sai has been having so much fun here! 😊 He's waiting on a great potential meet and greet soon and we're hopeful it will end with a new home for him! ❤️

We've been working HARD with BB this past week implementing the new techniques we learned and the progress has been huge!
Her pack walks are calmer, her decompression is easier, her massages are less frantic, she's generally a more relaxed and well behaved lady. ❤️
Today I took her to the park we've been struggling at and not only were we able to finally walk the trails, we passed 4 dogs, numerous strollers, many bikes, tons of people, AND walked our way through a school field trip. That last one was an accident 😅 but she rocked it and even got compliments from a few of the kids! 😎🥳

Oh Miss BB.... You have been a CHALLENGE. 😅
She is so much fun, has such a great personality, and yet her impulse control, reactivity, and stubbornness were really giving us a run for our money. When we felt like we were hitting a wall and not making any more improvements it was time to ask for help.
Getting some advice from Stephanie Vichinsky was eye opening to say the least! I've worked with Steph and her crew before and I knew this wasn't the type of dog we're usually getting around here so getting her expert knowledge on THIS PARTICULAR dog, and knowing she's not like every other dog, gave us a slightly new direction to move towards.
It's been tough but it's been worth it! Watching her slowly progress, slowly start to figure things out, slowly to make her own decisions in the right direction has been incredibly rewarding.

Biking is a great way to exercise a dog! Some dogs need to RUN out the energy and the stress of life with a much faster run than we as regular humans can do 😅 Add in a bike and we can take them to speeds they might need! Slow it down and take them longer and you'll get that steady state exercise they need to get those endorphins pumping to help combat the cortisol (stress hormone) that anxious dogs have excess of. Like these two!

Is it tough riding a bike with a dog? Oh yeah! 😅 It definitely takes practice to try not to get taken out when your dog slams to a stop to p**p 😬🤦🏼‍♀️ and some dogs need time to adjust around bikes before they even think about running next to one.

If this is something you think your dog needs or would like to do, think about taking it up and giving it a try! With a helmet of course... And maybe some extra padding...

Roxe went through our board and train program last year and when she comes back to stay with us it's so nice to have an easy, already fully trained dog who's comfortable with our system already. And when she's not a super playful dog we decide to go for more off leash walks to get that exercise in. ❤️

We had someone who is MUCH better at taking photos than I am, come out to showcase Miss BB! Or as I like to call her, Beebs. 🥰

BB is fostered through the rescue Happy Tails Happy Homes and they've put a lot of time, money, and effort into making BB the best version of herself she can be but they've gotten ZERO interest in her so hopefully these photos will help!

About BB:
She ain't no push over. 😆 She's got personality for days and she can be quite stubborn but she's incredibly sweet and playful and she's just SO HAPPY hanging in the yard with her toys. 🥰 She's great off leash in remote areas (sniff spots are great options) and she loves to do obedience training! She's a pro at nail trims and actually loves it since it means she gets food lol.
She is dog reactive but she's been getting better and better each and every day. She would love to be the only dog in the home so she doesn't have to share lol. She can go on neutral pack walks so it's not that she can't be around them or that she hates dogs, she's just impulsive and still working through her thoughts on them lol.
No cats. She's got a high prey drive towards them that I'm quite certain wouldn't end well.

What we are working on with her currently:
More neutrality around dogs, building relationships with kids (our main focus was dogs but we'll be testing her around my kids this week), and continuing her off leash training. She's come a long way from when she started a month ago and she's halfway through the program so there's still more progress to make! ❤️

Of the three dogs I have, it's not what I expected but it's been consistent! Some dogs were made to work, apparently Roo is one of them! 🥰

Watch some short clips of us working Wyatt around skateboards!

We had spent weeks building up pack drive, building our relationship, coaching him through different scenarios, so when we started bringing in skateboard which REALLY set him off it was actually quite easy to coach him through it since we had laid all that foundation work already.

Mad props to Adeline Thomas for having the skills on the board to make this doable (I would have honestly died if I tried lol) and to brave the terribly rocky back road to get this done. 😅 We'll find you a better road next time!

Our process isn't just correcting the unwanted behaviors... It's stopping the unwanted behaviors, but building up the new behaviors as well as desensitizing them to the triggers so they get so used to them it's not a big deal anymore. The lunging and barking isn't needed anymore because they're not as afraid of them as they used to be. It's not just training, it's rehabilitation. ❤️
