From our Cat Partners!

🐾 THIS is what rescue collaboration looks like! 🐾

One of the best things about animal rescue is when organizations work together to do what is best for the animals. We may all have different resources, foster homes, and areas we serve, but at the end of the day, we all want the same thing: safe, happy animals who get the chance they deserve. ❤️

Recently, our friends at the Humane Society of Fremont County reached out to ask if we could help with a momma cat and her 12-day-old kittens. They were making some building alterations and needed to free up space, so rather than disrupting a nursing mom and her tiny babies, they asked if we had a foster option.

Of course, we said YES! 🐱

Momma and her babies are now safely settled into foster care, and everyone is doing well. Momma can focus on being a mom, and her babies can grow and thrive in a quiet, comfortable environment.

This is why collaboration matters.

🤝 One rescue may have the space.
🤝 Another may have the foster home.
🤝 Another may have the resources.
🤝 And together, we can make sure the animal comes first.

There is no competition in rescue when we're all working toward the same goal. When rescues help each other, the animals win. ❤️

Ok, y'all. We are about to open applications on Bert and Jagger. We have our coffee in hand and are ready for the apps to flood in! They are ADORABLE almost 3 month old dachshund mixes. They will both be at the adoption event tomorrow at Scenthound Denver (check our events page for details!).

Just a reminder, you cannot adopt out of an adoption event. You can meet them, fall in love and submit an application, but then we need to process it, do a home inspection etc.

Like a little personality with your morning coffee? Jagger will bring the party.

Bertie’s brother Jagger is a 10-week-old Dachshund/terrier mix weighing just 8 pounds, with enough confidence for the whole band.

He loves toys, a friendly puppy wrestling match, and following his people from room to room. Your days of going to the bathroom alone? Consider those over.

Jagger is the more outgoing, rough-and-tumble brother, but he has a soft side, too—and a soft coat to match. His dusty dark gray coloring and terrier whiskers make him quite the handsome little guy. By evening, he’s ready to settle beside your hip for cuddles.

He’s already learning to respect the resident adult dog’s boundaries, isn’t nippy, and would do well with gentle children who handle him carefully. He sleeps peacefully in his crate all night, so he’ll be well rested for the morning’s activities. You’ve been warned.

Bert—Bertie to his friends—is a 10-week-old Dachshund/terrier mix weighing just 7 pounds. His favorite place? Snuggled into your lap while you watch TV.

After breakfast and some supervised puppy antics outside, Bertie likes to stick close to his brother and his people. Working from home? He’ll quietly keep you company. Doing housework? Expect a tiny manager following at your heels. His qualifications are limited, but his commitment is excellent.

At bedtime, he settles beautifully in his crate with a favorite toy. He does well with gentle children who understand how carefully a little puppy needs to be handled.

**Adoption Update!**

Lily found her Forever and boy, does she deserve it.

Lily was found chained to a tree in Arkansas- the chain around her neck was so tight it had to be cut off. 😢 When she arrived at EAPL, she was also heartworm-positive. Luckily Lily had an AMAZING foster who nursed her through the 5 month treatment.

Now she has a Forever family and they reported in that she is doing great. She loves her daily walks, all her toys and she is apparently the mayor of the dog park!

No one deserves a wonderful Forever more than you, sweet girl! We're so happy for you!

Who wants a super friendly cat who comes running for affection when they enter a room? Meet super-handsome Felix!

Felix's owner passed and he made his way to us and now he deserves a wonderful Forever. We will not comment on his somewhat chunky appearance-it's just more love to cuddle with.

With thanks to our rescue partners in the Zucchini search, we learned a TON about what to do when your dog goes missing and are sharing it here for all of our followers. Many things we all tend to do when going after a loose dog, calling their name, bending over, rushing towards them to grab them, looking them in the eye, are all WRONG. Please read this over and share with your dog-loving friends. And remember, step one is to not provide the opportunity for your pup to get lost! Keep your dogs restrained in the car. Do not leave doors open even for a second. And chip and tag your dog!

BTW, Zucchini is recovering beautifully and basically spending his days lounging on his foster's bed eating doggie bon-bons while his leg continues to heal up!

It's not Caturday, but the Cat Room is getting BUSY, y'all! We have many new cats joining us this week-so let's get moving on some adoptions for the current cats and get them to their Forever homes!!

Sebastian is a 6 month old beauty ready to find his person. He is a little shy at first, but warms up to his people quickly.

This is Grace in her last few days of foster in Arkansas getting all the love she deserves from one of the most adorable little hoomans we've ever seen.

Grace was in a horrible situation in a shelter, locked in a cage much too small for her. Monday she will fly to Colorado, courtesy of Pilots N Paws , and begin her new life.

Thank you to Lucky Dawg Rescue Inc for pulling her and keeping her safe for us.
