Rex's Place No one should stay home alone - including your dog Your dog loves you - no doubt about it. But most dogs want just one thing. To be around other dogs.

That is what we do best. At Rex's Place, our enrichment dog daycare has a mission: We want to stimulate and enrich the lives of the dogs who visit us by providing them with a stress free home away from home experience. But just like at home, we have expectations. We are not just a place for dogs to run off excess energy. Rather, we have a unique socialization and enrichment program that creates a a positive experience in neutral territory. And that reaps benefits We can reach and engage dogs on three levels: social, physical and emotional. Obedience practices play a big role in our every day routine. We challenge every dog 's ability to adapt, thrive, gain confidence and develop into a social, mindful and content canine companion. Dogs are taught to respect one another (and staff), understand their imitations and the limitations of others so that they can co-exist with dogs of other sizes and breeds. At Rex's Place, dogs will learn to play, chase, stop, come, rest and wait politely at the door until their name is called for a walk of lunch. Can you believe it’s a little over a month and a half away from Thanksgiving and then Xmas and New Years. This year went by incredibly fast (for me).

As always, our boarding is already filling up for those holidays so please get your reservations in if you want to stay with us. Peak periods have a 14 day cancellation window. We hate having to turn away our “Rexs Place family members” because we are full so please get those reservations in soon.

we tell you this every when the season changes, and I don’t think it has anything to do with the fact that the staff has been sick. It is kennel cough time which executivehappens every year when the seasons change.

As a reminder, kennel, cough is an airborne illness. If a dog walks by your house and coughs and you walk there a minute later, your could catch it. It sounds as if the dog is choking on something, but that is actually a cough. well we do require about a shot which should help. It is like the flu shot for us. If it doesn’t hit the strain, that’s there it will be ineffective.

Honey is really good for their throat and as always, we will be on the watch when we reopen on Monday(Whoohoo) and should we hear someone coughing we will remove them right away.

We are so sorry for the late notice, but Rex's Day Care will be closed tomorrow, Friday September 18. So many of our staff are sick that we are concerned we will not have enough coverage for the dogs we would expect. Boarding will operate as normal. Pickups and drop offs will be accepted between 8 and 11 AM and 4 and 6 PM tomorrow. If you have an emergency and you must have day care, you may drop off during that time and we should be able to accommodate you.
Again — we are so sorry, but we want all the dogs to be safe!
