🦜💚 The Voice of the Forest Lives Here 💚🦜
Central Florida Parrot Sanctuary
In Brazilian Indigenous folklore, parrots are believed to be spiritual messengers — carriers of ancestral voices, protectors of the forest, and living reminders that every creature has a purpose and a spirit.
Among tribes such as the Kayapó, Yanomami, and Tupi-Guarani, parrots were never seen as pets or possessions. Their voices were believed to bridge worlds, their feathers held borrowed spiritual power, and their presence signaled balance between humans and nature.
Today, many of those same parrots — macaws, Amazons, conures — are losing their voices in the wild due to habitat loss, illegal trade, and neglect.
At Central Florida Parrot Sanctuary, we believe our mission is bigger than rescue alone.
We are here to protect the messengers.
We provide lifelong sanctuary to parrots who have been discarded, abused, or forgotten.
We honor their intelligence, social bonds, and emotional depth.
We advocate for education — because understanding leads to compassion.
When we save a parrot, we are preserving more than a life —
we are preserving culture, spirit, and a voice that deserves to be heard.
If parrots were once seen as messengers of the forest, then today they are asking us one thing:
Will you listen?
