A little info about him is he is a llama all white except for a brown tail, he loves to run as fast as he can through the park, he also loves naps in the sun all sprawled out, plus he is a huge talker! 🦙🏃‍♀️💨

This is Maverick he is a Muntjack Deer! 🦌 Muntjack deer are one of the smallest deer species in the world they stand only 20 inches tall and weigh only 22-40 pounds!! The big teeth you see are actually tusks and their purpose is to fight other males and establishing territory during mating season! Only the boys will have prominent tusks!

We announce with great excitement than a healthy baby boy was born!! One of our alpacas was spotted having a bit of a difficult labor and we rushed in to help with blankets and towels the baby was born shortly after and was greeted by the whole family!! You can see his aunt smiling when meeting him for the first time!!

🦘 National Zookeeper Week 🦎

This is Chloe she has been working at the park for 3 years going on 4!! She is one of our senior zookeepers! She has a great attitude and responds to tasks quickly and efficiently!! We asked her two important questions!

1. What is your favorite animal and why?

“My favorite animal is Tarzan he is an African Grey parrot! He has always been my favorite”

2. What is your favorite memory working at the park?

“My favorite memory is him whispering to me while I was alone in the gate house and couldn’t figure out where the noise was coming from.”

This is Laura she is a second generation zookeeper and is the owner of Eureka Springs Safari Park! She has a Bachelors in wildlife biology and is a National Cruelty Investigator has 25+ years of experience with exotics and has spoken federally about animal welfare and management a multitude of times!! She is truly an animal lover and animal advocate! We also had asked her two questions!!

1. What is your favorite animal and why?

“1998 with Micah the Snow Macaque. This was before we were open to the public. I have so many favorites, but the muntjacs will always be close to my heart.”

2. What is your favorite memory working at the park?

“Fav memory is going out and doing programs with all my babies!”

🦢 National Zookeeper Week 🦓

Meet Aubrey she is a third generation zookeeper! She is head manager and vip coordinator and does bottle feeding for any baby’s who need it!! We asked two important questions!!!

1. What is your favorite animal and why?

“Tough question but one of my favorite animal is definitely Madonna one of our Grant Zebras! Why I love her so much is she has a big and bold personality and she always follows me around when feeding or cleaning and she’s just so gorg!”

2. What is your favorite memory at the park?

“ That is another tough one!! I would have to say when I was just cleaning and dropping feed off for the air bnb and this sweet little boy came out and asked me what the name of the little baby alpaca. I had said he doesn’t have a name yet and that he should name it! He stoped me the next day and said that he was thinking about it all night and had named the baby Finley after him”

Have you ever seen a kangaroo Joey emerge from their mothers pouch before? Well now you have!! Kangaroo moms have essentially a second womb to grow their babies in they stay there from birth till their close to a year old!! 🦘
