Musket is a handsome 5-year-old pinto Mustang gelding from Triple B HMA, standing approximately 14.1 hands tall. With his striking color, gorgeous mane, and fun-loving personality, he’s sure to turn heads wherever he goes.

Musket is titled and ready to find his forever home. He thrives with positive reinforcement-based training and is a willing partner who genuinely wants to please. Food-motivated, brave, and eager to learn, he has the potential to excel in just about any direction.

✅ Up-to-date on Coggins, vaccinations, and deworming
✅ Loads, leads, and halters well
✅ Picks up all four feet
✅ Currently kept in three-strand hot wire fencing.

Has worn a saddle and been sat on once.
Musket is not yet broke to ride, making him a great prospect for someone looking to continue his training their way.

He does well in mixed herds and tends to be lower in the pecking order. His sweet nature, adorable looks, and larger-than-life personality make him a truly special horse.

Musket does have an old injury to his right hip that has been vet-checked and does not affect him in any way.

🏡 A great home is a must.

I learned a lot from this lesson 🐴

One thing I’ve learned over the years with horses is that understanding their behavior and learning to read their body language will save you a lot.

Horses are always communicating — through their ears, eyes, feet, tension, and reactions. The better you get at listening to what they’re trying to say before they react, the better horseman you become.

A lot of situations can be avoided just by paying attention.

Social media gives us snapshots — not the whole story.
A few photos, a status update, or a highlight reel can make it seem like we truly know someone… but the truth is, we usually only see what people choose to share.

Horses remind me of that every day.

You can watch a horse in the arena, see a video online, or hear someone describe them, but you don’t truly know that horse until you spend real time with them. Quiet time. Consistent time. The kind of time where you learn their personality, their fears, their confidence, their triggers, and the little things they try to communicate.

The best horsemen aren’t just training movements — they’re building relationships.

A horse may look stubborn, lazy, nervous, or difficult on the surface, but when you slow down and listen, there’s usually a deeper reason underneath. Trust is built in the small moments most people never see.

Maybe people are a lot like horses in that way.

Before judging someone by what you see online, remember there’s always more behind the scenes. Real understanding only comes through connection, patience, and time.

And honestly, our horses teach us that better than anyone.

This Memorial Day weekend, may we never forget the true cost of freedom. While we gather with family, enjoy time together, and celebrate our blessings , we do so because brave men and women were willing to lay down their lives for this country.

The caisson carrying our fallen heroes is more than tradition — it is a solemn reminder that every freedom we have was paid for through sacrifice. This weekend, let us honor those who never made it home, remember the families who carry their loss every day, and never take our freedom for granted. 🇺🇸

Baloo has been a challenging horse to work with. Earning his trust has taken a lot of consistency, repetition, positive reinforcement, and learning how to push his threshold just enough without causing him to completely shut down.

Horses like this stretch me.

Gaining the trust of an untouched mustang is very different from gaining the trust of a horse that has been mishandled or mistreated. An untouched horse may fear people because they simply don’t know them yet. But a horse that’s been failed by humans has already learned that people can be unpredictable or unsafe.

That changes everything.

With horses like Baloo, the smallest moments feel like the biggest victories — a softer expression, a little curiosity, a quicker recovery after stress, the choice to stay instead of leave. Progress isn’t always loud, but it’s meaningful.

These horses teach patience, timing, consistency, and humility in ways easy horses never could.

Horses are smart, and when they find a way to get out of work, they’ll usually take it. This mare had learned to use her size to pull her feet away from her handlers.

She’s a large, athletic, sensitive mare, so I choose my battles carefully and stay intentional about how I handle them. Consistency, patience, and clear communication are what will win in the end.

Happy Saturday from the farm 🐴☀️

Everything you do with your horse is training — even the quiet moments. From bath time to a relaxing ride, every interaction builds trust, connection, and partnership.

Take time this weekend to slow down, get some rest, and enjoy doing what you love with the ones you love. 🤎

Character is often described as what you do when no one is watching.
But true horsemanship is revealed when things don’t go as planned — and everyone is watching.

What happens when your horse picks up the wrong lead in the show ring?
When they refuse to load in the trailer after a clinic?
When the moment you expected to go perfectly suddenly doesn’t?

That is where the heart of a trainer, owner, or horseman is truly shown.

Anyone can look polished when everything is going right. Real horsemanship is found in the response: the patience, the composure, the fairness, and the willingness to work through the problem without losing your temper or your respect for the horse.

Horses don’t measure us by our wins or perfect rides. They measure us by how we handle the hard moments — and by our consistency through them. The way we show up day after day, stay fair under pressure, and continue building trust even when things don’t go according to plan.

That’s character. That’s horsemanship.
