Meet Hazel ❤️

Hazel was surrendered to the shelter system by her former family.

When she arrived, we noticed she was having trouble keeping her food down, so she had her first vet visit yesterday. Thankfully, her stomach and intestines looked normal, and megaesophagus was ruled out. She also came to us with kennel cough, which may be affecting her more because of her anatomy.

We also discovered that her poor ears are in HORRIBLE condition 😣 and will likely need surgery. We don’t know the full extent of her medical needs yet, but we’re working closely with her veterinary team to understand the full picture and decide what will help her feel her best. We’ll share more about all that as we learn more.

Despite everything, Hazel has been silly and playful, with a dash of that classic bulldog bossiness 🤩 She loves plopping into your lap for snuggles and is, of course, so stinkin’ adorable!

Hazel has a wonderful community in her corner now, and we’ll do everything we can to get her the care she needs ❤️🙏🏼

A real special one! 🥹🐭

Mouse has finally found her forever family after months of waiting patiently! 😭

Arriving all the way back in May with her 5 puppies, this sweet and quiet little girl needed a bit more time to feel safe in her new environment. She was offered patience & love from our dedicated team of staff and volunteers, and as the weeks turned into months, we all watched her grow more brave.

Mouse blossomed into a real special dog, that we all grew to truly love. Watching her open up, find her confidence, and build sweet friendships with other dogs at the rescue was incredibly heartwarming!

We are absolutely thrilled to share that Mouse has officially met her forever human 🥹 We are so deeply grateful to Katrina for choosing adoption, and for seeing the magic in a shyer dog. By opening her heart to Mouse, she has given this sweet girl the exact happy ever we had all been dreaming of. 🫶🏼

Lenny and Cookie want to send the biggest, most heartfelt THANK YOU to every single person who has chipped in to help cover their senior dental surgeries (as well as 3 others!)❤️

Because of your kindness and generosity, we’re now just $2,165 away from reaching our goal 🥳 and we’re honestly overwhelmed with gratitude. 🥹🙏🏼

Meet Silas 🥰

This handsome boy was found as a stray and taken to a busy shelter, where he waited and waited for his family to come. Sadly, they never did.

We don't know why they never showed up, but we do know he's never going to go through that again ❤️ Silas is a NWDP dog now, which means his future is looking so bright!

Currently, this poor guy is dealing with some kennel cough that he picked up in the shelter, so fingers crossed now that he's got some meds in his system he'll recover quickly 🙏🏼

We look forward to sharing more about Silas as we begin to learn his personality ❤️

All 5 of our little spice girls have been adopted! 🤗🥰

Clove, Paprika, Chili, Wasabi, & Cayenne joined us back in mid August. Their Mother was pregnant with them when her owners dropped her off at the shelter, but thankfully she was adopted by another family who allowed her to give birth safety to her puppies before reaching out for help to find them all loving homes, which is where we came in!

The girls thankfully never saw the inside of a shelter, and have only known love since they came into this world. And now, all five of them have wonderful and loving families to grow up with! 🥹

Huge thank you to the loving foster family that cared for them before they joined us, and of course a huge thank you to each of their new fams for choosing adoption 🙏🏼 We are all wishing you the very best as you start your new adventure together! 🫶🏼

Meet Tilda 😍 She is a 6 year old German Shorthair Pointer mix looking for her next adventure, and forever family ❤️

Tilda's perfect day would be taking a long hike with her family, then settling in on the couch with her head on your lap for the rest of the evening. 🥹Tilda knows basic commands, walks well on a leash, and gets along great with other dogs and cats after proper introductions.

Tilda can be wary of men initially, but treats go a long way to building trust with her. She is spayed and UTD on vaccinations. Tilda will come with her favorite toys, bed, and treats. Adoption fee is a donation to NWDP. 🐾

Adoption apps have officially opened up for sweet little Grandpa Tommy 🥹

This polite & dainty ol' man is almost ready to find his perfect retirement home, just as soon as he receives his dental surgery (which is coming right up!)

He's looking to join a home where he can feel safe, loved, and spend his golden years getting spoiled 😇 Tommy would do well joining a home with another smaller friendly pup, as he has seemed to enjoy their company here with us. We do not know his preference with cats at this time, but think he'd likely do fine with them with proper intros. Younger kiddos may be a bit too much for him, but older kids that can be respectful of his smaller size would be okay!

Tommy is estimated somewhere between 12-14 years old, and only weighs around 5 lbs. Don't let his size fool ya though, he's got a huge heart, and will bring an abundance of joy to your life! 😍
