Let's be honest: There are multiple examples through out history showcasing the incredible breeds that make up "pit bull's". Let's focus on breaking the stigmas this month!

Did you know one common myth about pit bull-type dogs is that they have a “locking jaw” that makes their bite uniquely dangerous? That’s false. There is no special jaw-locking mechanism unique to pit bull-type dogs, and their bite force is not uniquely powerful compared with other large dog breeds.

Another interesting fact: the American Temperament Test Society (ATTS) has reported high pass rates for several pit bull-type breeds on its temperament test. While temperament-test results shouldn’t be used to predict the behavior of every individual dog, they can challenge the stereotype that these dogs are inherently unstable or aggressive.

This month, let’s replace myths with facts, and fear with responsible, informed dog ownership. ❤️🐶

October is National Pit Bull Awareness Month! 🐾❤️

This month, we’re celebrating these loyal, affectionate, goofy, and often misunderstood dogs. Despite their tough reputation, dogs commonly referred to as “Pit Bulls”—including American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and many Staffie mixes—are known for their big smiles, playful personalities, and deep bonds with their families. 🐶❤️

Join us throughout the month as we celebrate these wonderful dogs and help break down the stigmas surrounding them!
