One thing I work really hard on is having, not only a good relationship with the clients, but a good relationship with our area vets and other farriers. Your support system is just as important as the knowledge you have.
I have worked hand in hand with vets, my teacher and mentor Chris Gregory and his family, and other farriers to continue expanding my knowledge in farrier work.
I take pride in my work and if there is an issue I will always communicate to try and figure out the best methods to correct it or help find someone who can.
I don't want to talk bad about fellow farriers and when I am asked I always respond with " I don't know what they started with". I know that I am not always extended this same kindness and no I am not always perfect but we can only make this profession better by working together. As Chris Gregory said "You don't need the whole pie, you just need a piece".
I am a family man with children and my love for horses have taken me down this amazing road to this very rewarding career. I know the financial struggles to keep up with our four legged friends and have tried for the longest time to keep my prices affordable for families that want to share in this experience too. I have been told many times that I am to cheap and because of that I must not be any good.
No its the opposite. I am willing to walk away with a little less to make sure that the saddle club family can still go to shows, or the young barrel racer can still compete. Family is always front and center when I talk about my pricing and what I need to do.
Thank you to all my clients, friends, family and everyone that has been on this journey with me! Here's to 10 years in and many more to go!!!
