We had a great time at beginner camp earlier this week! We had fun riding, learning about horse care and welfare, exploring what horses eat, making horse treats, identifying brushes and doing a scavenger hunt, measuring horses and identifying the difference between horses and ponies, and more! Unfortunately I didn’t get many pictures - I guess we were too busy! This was such a fun group of eager young equestrians. Huge thank you to Cayden, Jordyn, and Rynn for helping and teaching! 🐴

We had a great time at beginner camp this week with a wonderful group of inquisitive young riders! In addition to working on our riding skills, we learned about different equestrian disciplines, identified parts of saddles and bridles, talked about the importance of grooming and hoof care, met our wonderful farrier Jerry Harriman and learned about how he helps keep our horses healthy, created an obstacle course and practiced leading the horses through it, did some ba****ck riding, gave Pistol a bath, and much more! A huge thank you to my amazing assistants Cayden and Jordyn for all their help teaching! 🐴

Tykenbay Acres is seeking a reliable, experienced, hard-working horse person for weekend afternoon barn chores. Chores include turn in, feeding, cleaning paddocks, sweeping, etc. Friendly barn environment dedicated to maintaining happy, healthy horses. Must have experience handling horses and reliable transportation.
