By law, dogs must be microchipped and registered by 3 months of age under the Dog Act 1976. 🐕
While sterilisation isn’t compulsory, it’s strongly recommended and helps support safer, healthier communities by reducing roaming and unwanted litters.
Eligible residents can apply for the subsidised Pet Sterilisation Program.
How to apply:

🏢 Apply in person at the Shire Administration Building, 77 Windich Street
✅ Once approved, you’ll receive a 30‑day voucher
🐾 Book with Swans Vets, then register your pet with the Shire
