Avian Behavior Conservancy Guests to our farm enjoy highly interactive avian experiences and falconry classes.

Originally Avian Behavior International founded in 2013, we expanded the scope of our conservation work and our programs help our international research. Founded in 2013 as Avian Behavior International, Avian Behavior Conservancy is located in rural San Diego County on 20 acres of natural chaparral. On our farm we host falconry classes and other interactive avian classes with many different species, from ravens and owls to parrots and vultures. These classes spread awareness for our conservation work here and around the world.

Ever been to the doctor and they just shout out the things you’re least proud of for all to hear? Thanks, no one needs to hear that my last bowel movement was on Tuesday! Sheesh.

Jade the bald eagle at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody Wyoming chatters every time she hears her trainers’ voices. She has this big open shed attached to her aviary to hang out in when if the elements are not to her liking. Talk about a queen 👸

Gaucho the Swainson’s hawk was giving me a run for my money here. When hyperphagia hits, I always imagine he looks at the world like the cartoons I grew up with and everything looks like a crispy brown chicken drumstick or roasting turkey, and he can’t get enough of it.

Some birds are crazy migrators, like my personal fave, the bar tailed godwit. Migration is one of the most fascinating things on earth to me, and I hope you love learning about it, too!
