Not sure if your dog is double-coated? Here's a quick test:

Part the fur near their back or hindquarters. If you see a dense, soft undercoat beneath the longer topcoat — they're double-coated.

Common breeds: Golden Retrievers, Labs, Huskies, German Shepherds, Australian Shepherds, Corgis, and Bernese Mountain Dogs.

If your dog is on that list, a deshed is the summer move. Our groomers can handle a deshed, flea/tick check, and nail trim all in one visit.

July 4th Fireworks Safety
This July 4th is a big one — America turns 250. That means bigger celebrations, bigger crowds, and bigger fireworks.

Here's the thing: more dogs go missing on July 4th than any other day of the year. The booms, the whistles, the flashes — even dogs who seem "fine" with noise can bolt when a firework goes off unexpectedly. Gates get left open during parties. Leashes get dropped. And a panicked dog doesn't stop running until they're completely lost.

Your fireworks survival guide:

Create a safe room — interior room, no windows, their bed + a worn t-shirt that smells like you
