We had a blast at San Marcos’ Junior Ranger Event at Jack’s Pond yesterday. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped us groom Bunny. We hope you enjoyed taking some of Bunny’s hair home with you! We love working with the City of San Marcos and are excited for our next event with them at Trail Days on Saturday, June 6!

Everyone Welcome Checkers!

We’re excited to announce our newest addition to the heard, Checkers! Checkers is a black and white pinto quarter horse mix around 19 years old. We don’t know much about his history except he was a trail horse and ponied thoroughbreds, but we can tell he’s going to be a great addition at the ranch. He’s only been here a few weeks and he’s already doing lessons! He’s quickly becoming a favorite with students and we’re excited to see more of his personality.

Rockin’ L&D is excited to announce we’re hosting a summer fun horse show at Walnut Grove Park! There are 6 different summer themed classes to participate in with 3 different age categories. This is purely for fun but there will be awards for the top competitors. Classes are $8 each or all six for $40 and a $10 ground fee per rider. If you would like to participate we are highly encouraging pre-registration via email. Email us at [email protected], subject line: Horse Show. Those who pre-register also get $5 off! We know it’s only April but Summer will be here before you know it and the kids will need something to do. Well, we have the perfect option for them! A week long Summer camp where campers not only get to learn great horsemanship skills but also other fun ranch skills like roping and goat tying. Space is limited and our August camps are already sold out! We still have spots available in our June 22, July 13 and July 27 week long camps. It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the passing of our beloved Fergie. Fergie had 27 years on this earth and 11 of those were with us at the ranch. In those years she taught an array of students from tiny tots to older adults, was a parade horse, competed with the best in gymkhana and always looked forward to carrot stretches! We know she will be missed and if you have a favorite Fergie memory, please post it for everyone to enjoy. The one thing we do know is she somewhere enjoying clover in a field with her friends.

Our Spring In To The Season Fun Horse Show at Walnut Grove Park on March 8th, is only a week away! The show will have 6 Spring themed gymkhana events with 3 age based divisions. Ground Fee $10, Classes $8 each or all 6 for $40, $5 off for early registration. Even if you don’t plan to compete, you can still come cheer on the competitors from the grand stands!
