🚨🐾 WELL… I SAID YES AGAIN. ACTUALLY, I SAID YES 16 TIMES. 🐾🚨
In the last TWO DAYS, I have said yes to 16 dogs needing DDS. 😳😂
And apparently that wasn’t enough chaos because that number does NOT include Delilah and her SIX puppies that I’m picking up and bringing back to Kansas City. 🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶
So… anybody want a Great Dane roommate?! 😂🏡
Because WE NEED FOSTERS. LIKE… YESTERDAY. 🚨🐾
But I also have some REALLY exciting news!!! 🎉❤️
For a long time, we have required our foster families to live within about an hour of our vet. There are obvious reasons for that… our dogs need access to DDS-approved veterinary care, and we need to be able to support our fosters.
But DDS has grown… A LOT. 🥹
And now our foster program is growing right along with it! 🎉🐾
📍 KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI AREA
This will continue to be our main DDS hub. ❤️
📍 CLARKSVILLE/NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE AREA
As most of you know, my daughter moved to Tennessee but still works for DDS. She is now going to help us launch a DDS satellite foster network in Tennessee! 🎉
That means we will be able to foster, vet and help move dogs in the Clarksville/Nashville area instead of everything having to come through Kansas City. 🐾❤️
📍 ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI AREA
We already have several amazing DDS team members living in the St. Louis area, so they are going to help us build another DDS foster network there with local fostering, support and veterinary care! 🙌🐾
And here’s the REALLY important part…
🌎 IF YOU DON’T LIVE NEAR KANSAS CITY, CLARKSVILLE/NASHVILLE OR ST. LOUIS… APPLY ANYWAY!
Depending on the dog, situation and available resources, there are times I will make an exception. And as DDS continues to grow, we want to keep building our foster network across the country. ❤️🐾
We need temporary fosters. 🏡
We need longer-term fosters. ❤️
We need people willing to help scared dogs learn that humans can be good. 🥹
We need people who can handle giant goofy dogs who have absolutely NO concept of personal space. 😂
We need people willing to say…
“Yep. I have room for one.” 🐾❤️
Because apparently I have already proven that I am VERY GOOD at saying yes. 😂🤦♀️
And I need to stop for a second and say something HUGE…
❤️❤️❤️ THANK YOU TO THIS COMMUNITY. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for continuing to go along with my little “yes” game. 😂 Every time I say, “Soooo… I said yes to another one…” somehow you guys just roll with it. You donate, share, foster, adopt, transport, buy things off our wish lists and show up every single time we need you.
You trust us. You believe in what we’re doing. And you love these dogs right alongside us. 🥹❤️
We could NEVER do this without you.
And an absolutely MASSIVE thank you to my DDS TEAM. 🖤🩵🐾
These girls deserve so much credit for what happens behind the scenes. I say YES… and instead of asking me what the hell I was thinking, they just get to work. 😂🤦♀️
“Chrissy said yes. Okay… what do we need to do?”
They start finding placement. They start making calls. They start figuring out logistics, fosters, vetting, supplies and whatever else my latest “yes” has just added to their plates. 😂
No panic. No lectures. No asking me if perhaps we should discuss these things BEFORE I commit us to them. 🤣
They just GET. IT. DONE. 💪🐾
I genuinely don’t know what I would do without you girls. You have turned DDS into something so much bigger than I ever could have built by myself, and I hope you know how much I appreciate every single one of you.
I love each one of you girls SO MUCH. ❤️😭
DDS isn’t one person saying yes.
It’s an entire team and community standing behind that yes and saying…
“Okay. Let’s save the dog.” ❤️🐾
Now we need some more people willing to join the chaos and FOSTER! 😂🏡
