We will email more details by the Monday before the event. If an event is full email us and maybe we can add another session if that happens!

Also join us for a picnic after we finish!! Dogs will have plenty of space to crate in AC during the picnic. We will provide water, hotdogs and hamburgers and ask that you bring a dish to add to the table. Desserts or side dish work well or even some fruit, veggies or chips.

Please RSVP to [email protected] if you’re coming to picnic so we have enough food! And also let us know what you will be bringing.

Try Barn Hunt!
Curious about Barn Hunt? Come see what all the excitement is about! In this fun, beginner-friendly session, we'll cover the basics of the sport, how we train, what to expect at trials, and how to get started.

Each dog will have a chance in the ring to explore the straw bales, go through a tunnel, and meet the rat safely and appropriately. We'll wrap up the session with a mock Instinct Run so you can see your dog's natural hunting instincts in action!
No experience necessary, just bring your dog and come have fun!

3 sessions are offered $35 per dog
9-10:30, 11-12:30, 1-230.
Limited to 7 dogs each session.

Dogs will be in a secure fenced area by themselves for their turn. Timid or reactive dogs are welcome. If this turns out to be your dogs game, Sarah will be starting new Barn Hunt classes in August.

Try Scent Work!
Scent Work is the newest popular sport for your dog where dogs hunt for scent modules of birch, anise or clove. It could be hidden in containers of all sorts, in indoor rooms or in an outdoor setting. Sometimes they are hidden in vehicles or buried in sand or water. Your instructor will demo with an experienced dog, talk about how you start training and what you can do with the training.

Your dog will also get to try out a basic search or 2! Dogs find this an immensely enjoyable game and can leave them satisfied and tired! Many people compete in scent work but also lots do it just to spend some quality time with their pooch enjoying seeing them having fun. Great for puppies and old dogs to!

If this seems to be your "game" Instructor Michelle Plazony will be starting some new scent classes in August.

2 sessions are offered $35 per dog
9-10:30 and 11-12:30.
Limited to 7 dogs each session.

Try an introduction to Agility!
Any age dog may try this as it will not be anything physically challenging. You will see a quick demo of an experienced agility dog and learn a bit about how we start agility.

Agility is a fun fast paced sport run in a large area so there is a lot of foundation work before they can start on the actual course! You will learn and practice a few self control exercises that we teach that are neccesary skills like "Its Yer Choice", hand touches and crate games. Your dog will also get a to try some basic agility foundation obstacles like walking a plank , a short tunnel and a tippy board. The only requirement is you and your dog and a bunch of cookies!

1 session is offered $50 per dog
9:30-11:30.
Limited to 7 dogs.

Agility run thru
The agility course will be set up in the big ring for run thrus. Only dogs currently training in agility may run the course. You also can work on just a skill you want to practice. Each dog will have timer set for 2 min to do what you want but you may take multiple turns! No instruction will be given but there will be a ring monitor to help change heights and they can offer advice or help as needed 🙂 Timers will be set up so it feels more like a real ring! We will rotate thru the heights as needed. $15 per dog for unlimited runs. You can sign up online and pay or just show up between 9 and 3 and pay there. Checks payable to Countryside Agility or cash. If you want to pay with card sign up online with the link.

Pool rental
Saltwater 12 x 24 indoor pool with deck, ramp and stairs into pool for the dog.

$20 per 30 minutes.
Up to 4 dogs allowed in the pool.
Bring your own FLOATABLE dog toys and towels!

Want to do some sniffy game/interior searches in some nice cool Air Conditioning in August?

Join us on Sat 8/1/26 for a "Sniff Through" at Countryside Agility in Erie, PA. The building is huge and the AC is cold 🙂 A good chance to get out of the heat and get some good practice in!

Runthru is hosted by Denise at Countryside Agility Being new to the sport she has realised that there is limited availability to practice searches in show like environments so we are hoping to help fill that void . Ann Smorado has graciously agreed to be the "technical advisor" and with her vast scent work experience and my experience with putting on agility events we will be working together to give you a great experience . All hides will be well thought out and set by Ann and made to challenge any level dog ,

Plenty of indoor crating in AC will be available for any dogs you have along ! You are welcome to use our 4 x4 pens or crates at the building

What is offered :

Four Concurrent Indoor Searches! These will be NW1-NW3 or Novice -Excellent in terms of challenge.
You will sign up for your preferred block of time , 9-11 or 11:30-1:30

We will send a run order out to you before the run through so you have an idea when you need to be there .

We expect each dog to use about 15 minutes but to keep things moving, we will start the next dog when the one ahead of you is on search 2 . Things should move along smoothly ,

The 4 search areas are seperated by distance and walls ,You will never be in sight of another dog working so no worry if you have a reactive or fearful dog , 3 of the 4 searches are in closed rooms ranging from 100 sf to 5,000 sf .

Each search area will have a monitor who will explain the number or range of hides .She will also run a timer for your allotted search time and help you if requesting known hides

Hello Countryside Peeps!

We are excited to announce that Obedience and Scent Work classes will be starting soon at Countryside Agility! We have long wanted to offer more fun things to do with your dog and finally have been able to fit in some new stuff!

If you are interested in signing up for a class or finding out more information about future classes be sure to use this contact for all Scentwork and Obedience : Michelle Plazony at [email protected]

Please do not email the countryside office about these classes ! (as we have our hands full with AGILITY!)

🐾 Scent Work (Scent Work)

Scent Work is a FUN and highly beneficial activity that allows your dog to use their natural hunting instincts. It provides intense mental stimulation — just 15–20 minutes can equal an hour-long walk — along with low-impact physical exercise.

Benefits include:

Reduces anxiety and builds confidence
Strengthens the bond between dog and handler
Can be done anywhere with no special equipment required
Suitable for ANY dog
Class begins by building your dog’s confidence and excitement for the game. Dogs start by searching for a favorite reward hidden in one of several boxes. The activity is self-rewarding — when they find the treat or toy, they immediately get to enjoy it!

As skills develop, searches expand from a few boxes to larger rooms, then to outdoor areas and even vehicles!

Eventually, dogs learn to search for and identify a specific target odor and locate its source. This sport is an incredible confidence builder — and a fantastic learning experience for handlers too!

🐾 Obedience Classes

Using positive reinforcement methods, you will learn how to teach your dog:

Sit, down, stay/wait
Recall, leave it, drop it
Loose leash walking
Place
Crate games and confidence-building games
The course is designed with the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen test in mind. Handler/dog teams are invited to test for their CGC at the end of the course if they feel ready. You may need additional training before being ready to test .

Classes will be offered on Thursdays as follows:

Thursdays:

11am-12am Puppy/Basic Obedience

12:15-1:15 Scent Work Foundation

4:45-5:45 Puppy/Basic Obedience

6:00-7:00 Scent Work Foundation

7:15-8:15 Continuing Scent Work (for dogs already introduced to odor)

8:30-9:30 Puppy/Basic Obedience

Please note that class levels/times may be changed/combined based on enrollment.

Six weeks, 1 hour class, $150

Prerequisite: None except Continuing Scent Work is for dogs already introduced to odor
