I love being a bit of a chaos gardener, I like layers of color and textures, sometimes no rhyme or reason. When you plant the same thing over and over, it can appear boring, and robs you of various colors at different times of the year.

Late summer and fall give way to deeper colors, as the cooler nights give plants a break from the heat.

So I encourage you to have a little chaos in your garden...and get yourself a damn good man like Ron, who knows this makes me happy and enjoys my "chaos" every day!

There a crack in the windshield of the tractor…but with this view, who cares!

It’s that time of year where I can take a breath and steal the tractor from Ron to go out and mow the perimeter of the alfalfa fields.

This is one of my favorite things to do, so no matter that there’s a crack in the windshield, just like life, you look through it and you enjoy the beauty that’s around you. Still work on fixing that crack, but don’t let it obstruct your entire view.
