Chip is a 6-year-old unraced Thoroughbred gelding with an excellent mind and true hunter potential. Standing 16.2 hands with a solid, substantial build, he is a straightforward, honest horse suitable for a wide range of riders.
I purchased Chip directly off the track nearly two years ago. He had a slow, correct introduction to the English disciplines and immediately showed aptitude for the hunter ring. He is a consistent, willing jumper with a lead change in both directions and prefers a supportive leg ride. He is brave to the fences and has no buck, rear, stop, or spook.
Chip has shown consistently in the 2’6” hunters at FFES and UDJC, with experience up to 2’9” Open Equitation, and has schooled at home up to 3’3”. In June 2025, one of my students showed him at UDJC, placing 2nd in a large, competitive flat class and earning ribbons in the 2’6” hunters. He has minimal show miles due solely to my limited time, not ability.
He has been lightly shown, but is incredibly reliable—he comes out of the pasture the same whether he has had a day off or several months off. He is currently on the back burner since last year while I was pregnant, but briefly was back into work for the FFES Halloween Show in 2025. Since then he has been back on the back burner.

He did receive routine stifle injections while on the track with no ongoing issues. His only maintenance consideration is mild difficulty sweating in the summer, which has been well managed with Kombat Kool supplement and acupuncture, resulting in normal sweating.
Chip is genuinely one of the sweetest horses on my property. He is only being offered for sale because he has too much potential to sit idle and deserves a job.
