✨ Puppy Exposure Spotlight: The Velocity Dryer ✨

One of the many things we intentionally introduce our puppies to before they go home is the velocity blow dryer—one of the loudest grooming tools they’ll encounter throughout their lives.

We take it in small, positive steps:

🐾 Step 1: Simply having the dryer running nearby so they can hear the sound without any pressure.

🐾 Step 2: Letting them experience a little bit of the airflow while keeping the experience calm and low-key.

🐾 Step 3: Adding treats, praise, and positive associations so they learn that the dryer means good things happen.

🐾 Step 4: The best sign of all… puppies that are so comfortable they decide it’s nap time. 😴❤️

The goal isn’t just exposure—it’s building confidence. By introducing grooming equipment gradually and positively during this critical developmental period, we’re helping create puppies that are more relaxed for future baths, grooming appointments, and routine care.

And honestly, watching puppies snooze through a running velocity dryer is pretty adorable too! 🐶✨

Knox (on the right) and Remy have been working on “place” in training this week & are doing amazing! The small dog in the middle is my parents dog, and is also being so good!

🐾💕 What a perfect way to end an incredible Puppy Open House!

Today was such a success, and one of the sweetest moments was when a wonderful puppy family showed up with a gift basket just for Lucy. 🥹

They included a note that read:

“To Mama Lucy ❤️ Your puppies are beautiful! XO – The Verhasselts”

And let me tell you… they absolutely nailed it with the tennis ball! 🎾😂 Lucy has been carrying it around and showing it off ever since.

As breeders, we spend so much time pouring into our puppies, but seeing families already loving and appreciating the dogs behind the puppies means the world. Lucy has been an exceptional mama, and it was so thoughtful to see her recognized today.

Thank you, Verhasselt family, for your kindness and for helping make an already wonderful day even more special. We are so grateful for the amazing families that become part of our Owenadoodle family. ❤️

And judging by the smile on Lucy’s face, I’d say the tennis ball was a huge hit! 🎾🐾

What a fun and busy week it’s been for Bianca’s babies!

This week the puppies:
✨ Began exploring beyond the whelping box
✨ Experienced new textures and sensory activities
✨ Met new toys and enrichment items
✨ Continued building confidence through daily handling
✨ Started learning about appropriate potty areas
✨ Enjoyed lots of cuddles and positive human interaction
✨ Started showing more confidence as they explore and learn

At four weeks old, these puppies are becoming much more mobile, curious, and interactive. They’re starting to play with one another, investigate their surroundings, and gain confidence with every new experience. This is such an important developmental stage as they begin learning about the world around them and discovering that new things can be safe, fun, and rewarding.

While their individual personalities are still developing, we’re laying the foundation for confident, resilient puppies through intentional socialization, enrichment, and positive experiences every day.

We can’t wait to see what the next few weeks bring as these babies continue to grow, learn, and take on new adventures!

What a big week it’s been for Lucy’s babies!

This week the puppies:
✨ Conquered the stairs
✨ Visited the veterinarian and received a clean bill of health
✨ Continued working on potty training
✨ Experienced new textures, toys, and enrichment activities
✨ Practiced sound exposures and household noises
✨ Enjoyed lots of socialization and snuggles
✨ Started building confidence through new adventures and challenges

At six weeks old, their little personalities are really starting to shine! We are seeing confidence, curiosity, affection, and resilience grow more and more each day. It’s amazing to watch them learn, explore, and take on the world with wagging tails.

Only two weeks until these sweet babies begin heading home to their forever families! ❤️🐶

🐾 Lucy’s Puppies Had Their Vet Visit Today! 🩺❤️

Today was a big milestone for Lucy’s litter as they headed in for their puppy wellness exams—and we’re happy to report that every single puppy received a clean bill of health! 🎉

These vet visits are an important part of preparing our puppies for their future families. Not only do they receive a thorough examination, but they also gain valuable exposure to new people, new environments, and new experiences. Every positive outing helps build confidence and resilience.

And then there was Tilly… 💕😂

While everyone else was busy taking in the excitement, Tilly decided the exam table was the perfect place for a nap. She completely relaxed and fell asleep during her visit, proving once again just how sweet and easygoing she is.

After their appointments, the puppies loaded up in their crate and settled in beautifully for the ride home. These little moments may seem simple, but they’re all part of helping raise puppies that are prepared for the world around them.

We’re so proud of this litter and all the progress they’re making each week! ❤️🐶
