STEPPING OUT ON BIG FAITH — 2027! 🙏❤️

Every year for the past 17 years, I have looked forward to choosing a special planner for the upcoming year. It has always been exciting to fill those pages with events, celebrations, and memories waiting to be made.

But after the horrible fire, I realized today, over eight months later, just how different my 2026 planner has been. As I look through its nearly empty pages, I must admit it saddens my heart.

Please don't misunderstand me. I have still enjoyed family events, church activities, and all the games, ect our grands have been involved in. There have certainly been blessings along the way! But I miss the busyness, the excitement, and all the special events at Two BY Two.

Yesterday, our guest minister at church delivered a dynamic message about FAITH. God has certainly been dealing with my husband and me about that very subject. Brother Rick broke it down in such a way that his message was both challenging and encouraging.

So today, I decided to step out on that BIG FAITH and purchase my 2027 planner!

As God provides the remaining funds needed to complete our new venue, I am believing that those empty pages will once again be filled with wonderful events, precious memories, laughter, and fellowship at Two BY Two. At this time, we still need approximately $9,500 to complete the work, but we are trusting God to provide every dollar needed in His perfect timing!

I know we cannot see everything ahead of us, but that is what faith is all about — trusting God even when we cannot see the finished picture.

Thank you to everyone who has encouraged us, supported us, prayed for us, and walked alongside us throughout this journey. Your kindness has meant more than you will ever know. ❤️

Please continue to pray for us as we trust God for the completion of our new venue and the plans He has for our future.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11:1

Here's to 2027, a new planner, new possibilities, and BIG FAITH in the One who holds our future!

Blessings! ❤️🙏

JOY
For the last 17 years, our Christmas Open House has been a special tradition filled with Santa, the message of Jesus’ birth, snacks, a photo booth, animals, music, crafts, and lots of fellowship. It’s always been a time to slow down and celebrate the true reason for the season together.

Last Christmas, dear friends Stacey and Paul visited the zoo. While we were talking, Paul showed me a beautiful Christmas yard display he had made for his wife and his church. I fell in love with it!
He asked if I’d like a set for the zoo the following Christmas and what I wanted it to say.

Without hesitation, I said, yes and “JOY!”

Little did I know that just one month later, the fire would take our facilities, 120 of our animals, 17 years of decorations for every season, and several hundred boxes of party décor and supplies.

Yesterday, Stacey and Paul brought our JOY display to us.

It is beautiful—and so much more meaningful than they could ever know. Thank you for all the hard work and extra effort you put into this! We love y'all!

I had quietly thought we probably wouldn’t be able to have our Christmas gathering this year. But seeing this reminded me:
God is still writing our story.

Nehemiah 8:10b says,
“For the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

There has been so much sorrow since the fire, but I pray daily that we will continue to hold onto God’s joy.

When our middle grandson saw the display, his exact words were:
“Guess you need to be open by Christmas now Gigi!”

So…we’re pushing for that! ❤️

Thank you for continuing to pray, ask about us, encourage us, and give to help make Two BY Two available to this wonderful community once again.

We’re holding onto JOY and trusting God as He continues to write our story.

Blessings! ❤️

Today, September 29, 2026, marks 8 months since the tragic fire.

Over these past eight months, we have experienced the generosity of so many amazing people. Since we had no insurance and were left with nothing but concrete after being in business for 17 years, we have witnessed God working through people who have allowed Him to use them to bless our family.

Trying to save our family farm, which has been in our family for 122 years, has been challenging. But through it all, God has been faithful.

As I have shared before, a friend blessed us by providing a pole barn. Then, a few months ago, we were gifted the walls around the barn. We are beyond grateful for the way God is bringing this venue back to life, one step at a time.

So today, at this 8-month mark, we are believing Him for the inside to be completed.

Our desire is to have this adorable venue available for many different activities here on the farm—to once again be a place where families can gather, make memories, celebrate, and be blessed.

So we continue walking this journey by faith, one day at a time.

Seventeen years ago, the original opening was also completely by faith. God used that little venue to bless so many families, and it was such a blessing to ours as well.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:7

And today, we remain on “Faith Street” as of this very minute! ❤️

We invite you to join us in believing that God will provide the remaining resources needed to make this dream come true once again.

We don't know exactly how He will do it, but we know WHO He is.

And when it is completed, I believe we will all be able to stand together and say:

“FOR HIS GLORY… TWO BY TWO EXISTS!”

Thank you to every person who has prayed, given, encouraged, blessed, and believed with us along this journey.

Blessings! ❤️

Since the tragic fire on Thursday morning, January 29, 2026, I’ve been reflecting on three blessings I’m most thankful for:

1. It was a school day.
All five of our grands were safely at school. If even one had been home, they could have been in the barn.

2. A group of small children was scheduled that morning.
Their visit was moved to the following week—such clear timing.

3. It was brutally cold.
After my walk, I normally check the animals, but I went inside to warm up. I believe God protected me in that moment.

I’ve trusted Jesus for 43 years, and I believe more than ever that He directs our paths.

Deuteronomy 31:8
“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you… Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

I am deeply thankful for our family, friends, and even strangers who have prayed for us, encouraged us, and supported us in so many ways.

Thank you from my heart.

Love to all! ❤️

Today is the 29th.

Six months ago today, we faced the tragic fire that left us with nothing but a concrete slab where our facility once stood.

But this morning, as I walked my morning circles around the farm—the quiet time I spend talking with God before the world steps in—I noticed something different. I saw beauty... and I heard beauty.

As two of the men arrived to work on the venue, I smiled, waved, and realized the words that came out of my mouth were, "Good morning!"

The honest truth is that during these past six months, there were many days when I couldn't see anything good. The grief felt overwhelming.

Yet, time and again, someone would send an encouraging text, make a phone call, or stop me in the store just to say, "I'm praying for you." Those simple acts of kindness truly lightened my load and reminded me that we were not walking this journey alone.

Today, I realize my vision has changed. I can see hope again, and for that I am so very thankful.

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." — Psalm 46:1

Blessings! ❤️

Excited over Two Tables!

As you can see in the picture below, I'm excited to share that we purchased two tables for our new facility!

When we realized we had lost 8–10 tables and approximately 60 chairs, it really put into perspective how much we still need.
I found these folding tables—normally $60 each—on sale at Tractor Supply for $30 each, so I grabbed them. I simply took a step of faith, believing that one day we will open our doors. Amazically, no other Tractor Supply had them on sale except our Enterprise store!

When I got home, I quickly realized that new chairs cost $13–$15 each, and we'll need at least 50 of them.
If anyone has gently used chairs or happens to find some on sale, please let us know. Every little bit helps!

In the meantime, rejoice with me that we have two tables! When so much has been lost, you learn to be deeply grateful for even the smallest blessings.

Reminder...
"Little is much when God is in it" is not an exact Bible verse, but the well-known chorus of a hymn written by Kittie Suffield in 1924. It beautifully captures the biblical truth that God can take our small offerings and multiply them to accomplish great things.

Since God never changes, I still believe He can do great things!

Thank you all for loving us, praying for us, encouraging us, and not giving up on us. We are so grateful for each of you. ❤️

Five months today.

It's hard to believe that five months ago today, I received the phone call telling me that our zoo—our only source of income for our 4th generation farm and a place that brought so much joy to so many families—was on fire.

We lost it all, including 120 precious animals.

Today, I have to focus on something else because that burden is still incredibly heavy.

Even so, we have been blessed in many ways, and today I want to share one of those blessings.

I received a phone call from Jennifer and Connie with Lowe's, and they blessed us with a storage shed! Thank you ladies and Lowe's!

Only God knew the struggles we had been facing with storing feed for our animals after our original feed barn was destroyed in the fire.

As He always does, God knew the need, saw the need, and provided for it. I never imagined it would happen this way.

Today, I thank Him for Lowe's generosity, and I also want to thank Jason with Kevin Goodyear Towing for delivering the shed to us.

Philippians 4:19 "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."

We continue to thank Him for everyone who has encouraged and supported us as we press on. Every act of kindness reminds us that even in the midst of loss, God is still providing, still faithful, and still working.

Little is often much!

Since the tragic fire in January, we have been without water on the farm, making everyday tasks much more challenging. As the old saying goes, "You don't miss the water until the well runs dry."
I've tried to be patient, but all my friends know that isn't always easy for me.
Thanks to Brother Lamar coming over and helping my husband, we now have water again! What a blessing. I am thrilled and ready to begin working on the bathrooms next.
The importance of water reminds me of the most important water of all. In John 4:14a, Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well, "But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again."
It is my daily prayer that we can continue rebuilding and that we can keep sharing His Living Water with everyone who visits our 120-year-old family farm.
Thank you to everyone who has checked on us, prayed for us, and donated to help make this possible. Your love, support, and encouragement mean more than words can express.

Kindness...
So many people have shown acts of kindness since the devastating fire.

Recently, I was treating an animal with "blue lotion." Anyone familiar with farm life knows it’s our go-to remedy for healing just about anything.
I thought I had put on my gloves, but I quickly realized I hadn’t. That’s how I ended up with the purple hand shown in the picture below.

As I looked at my hand, I was suddenly reminded of an act of kindness.
I recall the day after the fire when there was a knock at our door. It was Kevin. We hadn’t seen him in quite some time, but we have been friends for many years—our families spanning three generations of friendship.
He had heard about the fire and wanted to come by and check on us.
Kevin asked if there was anything he could do to help. At the time, my husband and I were still in such shock that we told him we couldn’t think of a thing.

During our conversation, however, I mentioned that I needed to go pick up some medicine for Petunia.
Within just a few minutes, Kevin had gone to Tractor Supply and returned with multiple bottles of our faithful Blue Lotion!

His kindness was such a blessing to us.
God used him in a special way that day, and we are so grateful.

Accomplished this week!

Ephesians 6:10
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the POWER of his might."

I am extremely excited to announce that we now have electricity (power) to our pole barn!

As we mark four months since the fire that destroyed our petting zoo and party venue, every accomplishment feels like a major milestone.

I am so thankful for my husband and Lamar Wood, who is also my son-in-law's father. They have worked incredibly hard this week, and I'm pretty sure they're getting tired of my tears!

A special thank you as well to Covington Electric for connecting the main power.

Most of all, I thank God, who has provided me with strength and power every day. Without Him, I am certain I would not have made it through these past months.

Thank you to everyone who has stayed on this recovery journey with us. Your support, prayers, and encouragement mean more than words can express.

We are rebuilding one step at a time, and today is another reason to celebrate.
