Meet Nala (aka Nally Llama) 🐾
Nala is an 8-year-old spayed Husky/Border Collie mix who is looking for her forever home. This is one of the hardest decisions our family has ever had to make, but due to housing restrictions, we can no longer keep her. Our biggest wish is to find her a loving, patient family who will cherish her as much as we do.
Nala is truly the best girl. She is completely house-trained, uses a doggy door, and is free-fed with both food and water. She knows several commands including sit, stay, down, crawl, and up. She’s smart, eager to please, and has wonderful house manners.
She absolutely ADORES children. Over the years she’s been around kids of all ages, from babies to older children. She’s experienced plenty of accidental ear tugs and tail pulls and has never shown aggression. In fact, she’s never even shown her teeth at anyone.
Nala has always done great with other dogs. We’ve introduced her to well over 30 dogs throughout her life, and she’s gotten along wonderfully with all of them. She did have one litter of puppies years ago and was spayed shortly afterward.
One thing to know about Nala is that she does not do well around chickens, and we aren’t sure how she would do with other farm animals. She will also need a securely fenced yard, preferably with a high fence. While she enjoys walks and outdoor potty breaks, she has always been an indoor family dog and has never lived outside.
Like any Husky mix, she still gets the occasional case of the zoomies! Sometimes she’ll suddenly go flying around the house with a huge grin on her face, chasing anyone willing to join in the fun. It’s one of our favorite things about her. When roughhousing and playing, she will very occasionally put her mouth on you, but never aggressively.
Nala loves attention and being part of the family. If you come home from work and don’t greet her right away, she’ll happily follow you around until you do. 😂 She wants to be included, loved, and acknowledged every day.
Our biggest concern is that Nala may struggle emotionally during the transition. My husband has been her best friend for the last six years, and they are incredibly bonded. Because of that, we’re hoping to find someone who can give her plenty of love, patience, and reassurance while she adjusts.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a kid-friendly family dog, and a best friend who will love you with her whole heart, Nala may be the perfect fit.
Please only reach out if you’re prepared to give her the safe, loving, lifelong home she deserves.
