Some people join the EVC family once… but Dr. Jason Zollinger liked us enough to do it twice!

"Dr. Z" first joined Ennis Veterinary Clinic as an associate veterinarian in 2003, where he stayed until 2007. After some time away, he returned to EVC in 2020 as a full-time veterinarian and partner—and we couldn’t be happier he did! When he’s away from the clinic, Dr. Z enjoys spending time with his family—which includes TWO sets of twins! He’s also a proud pet parent to a dog and cat.

FUN FACTS:
🐈 His favorite clinic skill is herding cats - and yes, we’re pretty sure he means that literally AND figuratively.
🏊 His first job was as a lifeguard.
💬 His most-said phrases at EVC are “Smile and the world smiles with you.” OR “Your shoe is untied.” (just to see if he can make you look)
🦦 His spirit animal is a river otter - we can’t argue with that.
🐍 The most exotic animal he’s worked on was a rat snake that needed surgery to remove a ceramic egg it had eaten!
😂 His EVC coworkers tease him about being the “Dad” at work, and that includes his retelling of the same dad jokes over and over!

Everyone loves Dr. Z, and we are grateful for his consistently calm presence, easygoing nature, and the steady, reassuring energy he brings to EVC every day.

🐾 Happy National Dog Week! 🐾

A whole week to celebrate the loyal companions who greet us like we’ve been gone for 10 years… even when we only took the trash out. The ones who follow us from room to room, stare at us while we eat, somehow hear a treat bag open from three rooms away, and believe every stranger they meet is a new best friend.

Life is definitely better (and a little messier) with dogs in it, so give your favorite good boy or good girl an extra treat, an extra belly rub, and maybe forgive them for whatever they chewed up yesterday! 🐾🐕🐶🐩🐾

Hank: “I think we got tricked into going for a wagon ride, but we ended up at the vet clinic for wellness checks and vaccines!”

Wednesday: “Yep....so maybe if we just smile for the camera, act cute and pretend everything is fine, they’ll forget about the vaccines?”

This week, we’re excited to introduce Dr. Rory Vineyard, who has been a valued member of the Ennis Veterinary Clinic family for 2½ years!

When he’s away from the clinic, Dr. Vineyard stays busy with a wide variety of hobbies. He enjoys leathercraft, sewing, gardening, cooking, judo, and learning to speak and write Spanish. He and his wife, Dr. Kayla, are also proud cat parents to three cats, Squeaky, Wheels and Popeye!

FUN FACTS:
🩺 His favorite clinic skill is internal medicine.
🚜 His first job was working at Tractor Supply in Pleasanton, Texas.
💬 His most-said phrases while at the clinic are “To be sure, to be sure,” “Such is life,” or “It is what it is.”
😂 His EVC coworkers tease him about the way he pronounces certain words—like “San Antonio” and “mango” (with that overly emphasized soft A)!

We are incredibly grateful for Dr. Vineyard and the many qualities he brings to our EVC team. His willingness to step in and help in any situation, his rapport with our patients’ owners, his knowledge, quick wit and humor make him such a valued part of our clinic.

🐾Furry Face Friday: WINNIE 🐾

"I'm not sure what happened, but I'm pretty sure I deserve extra treats for it."

Cone of shame? More like cone of CUTENESS! We hope this sweet girl gets to feeling better really soon after her spay procedure this morning and gets ALL the love this weekend as she heals!

This week, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Dr. Diane Clarke, who has been a valued member of the Ennis Veterinary Clinic family for nearly 7 years!

When she’s away from the clinic, Dr. Clarke enjoys boating and traveling to visit her grandchildren, who are spread out all over North America. She is also the dog mom to two very energetic Australian Shepherds who keep her busy trying to teach them to be just a little less energetic!

FUN FACTS:
🐴 Her spirit animal/dream pet is a Palomino horse.
🐶 Her favorite skill at the clinic is working with the “itchy dog patients” with bad skin! She truly enjoys helping these patients feel more comfortable and getting them back to feeling their best.
🍿 Her first job was making caramel corn at the mall when she was 15, where she gained a lifelong skill - making great caramel corn!
🦘 Dr. Clarke spent a year working as a veterinarian in Australia, where she had the opportunity to care for lots of sugar gliders, wallabies, and kangaroos!
💻 Her EVC coworkers tease her about her typing and computer skills - or more accurately, her lack thereof!

We are incredibly grateful for the many things Dr. Clarke brings to EVC, especially her compassion, tender spirit, energy, knowledge and willingness to help others. Her genuine care for her patients, clients, and coworkers makes her such a special part of our team.

This week, we are happy to tell you all about someone who's been a vital part of the Ennis Veterinary Clinic for the last 16 years!

💙Dr. Courtney Wade💙 is passionate about her patients and loves the challenge of veterinary medicine. Her favorite parts of the job are soft tissue surgery and figuring out those tough medical cases that keep everyone thinking! When she’s away from the clinic, Dr. Wade enjoys hiking and traveling whenever she can, but most of all, she loves spending time with her kids and fiancé. Her own animal family includes a dog (Otis), a cat (Chicken), a ferret (Oscar), and a hedgehog (Uganda).

FUN FACTS:
😂 Most-said phrase at EVC: “What room am I in?”
❤️ Spirit animal/dream pet: Her college dog, Xavier. She misses him so much!
💲 First job: Working at Stripling and Cox, a department store in Ft. Worth
🐪 Most exotic animals she’s worked with: a circus snake, a camel, and a llama!
🤣 What her EVC coworkers tease her about: Giving TMI - - ALL. THE. TIME.

We’re incredibly grateful for the fun energy and excitement Dr. Wade brings to EVC every day. Her ability to connect with and relate to our clients, along with the genuine love she has for her patients, makes her such a special part of our team.
