Just a kind reminder… if it is too hot for you to go for a walk barefooted then it is too hot for your dogs paws too.

Enid Animal Welfare will be CLOSED on Friday, July 3rd, in observance of the Independence Day holiday and Saturday July 4th. We will reopen again Monday July 6th at 10 am.

With fireworks and celebrations just around the corner, now is the perfect time to prepare your pets for a safe and stress-free holiday.

Plan ahead by:
• Refilling any anxiety medications your pet may need.
• Picking up calming treats or other veterinarian-approved calming aids.
• Creating a quiet, secure space inside your home where your pet can feel safe during fireworks.
• Making sure your pets are wearing a properly fitted collar with current ID tags. Microchips should also have up-to-date contact information in case your pet becomes frightened and escapes.

Every year, shelters see an increase in lost pets after the Fourth of July. Taking a few simple precautions now can help keep your furry family members safe at home where they belong.

We hope everyone has a wonderful Independence Day weekend! 🇺🇸 Have fun, celebrate responsibly, and most importantly, stay safe!

It’s that scary time of year for many dogs. Check fences and gates, get dogs medication for anxiety if needed, and keep dogs inside if possible during those fireworks…
