Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. This week our pet of the week is Berkeley.

*. He is an F1 male mini Blue Merle
Bernedoodle
* He’s 15 weeks old. Born June 20, 2026
* Breeder: CastleRockBernedoodles.com
*. Favorite toys: Mr Frog (squeaky), a 6’ rope, Mr Dragon, multiple teething rings, a fabric donut and fabric chicken bone!

Favorite times of the day:
* Eating (of course).
* Playtime including running around the yard trying to grab pieces of bark from the garden areas (oh my, but he loves ‘that’ game. Lol!).
* Evening snuggles (mom and dad love that too!!).
* Berkeley is also doing well at retrieving a medium size (tennis ball size) teething rope ball.
* He also thinks the step stool that we sit on in the yard, is his ‘dog house’. He loves to wiggle into small spaces. It’s a total game for him!
*. His newest game is ‘attacking the vacuum’. Lol! He’s such a puppy!

He’s such a cute, smart, funny puppy! Mom and dad are loving every minute with him! ❤️❤️❤️

Our next pet of the week is Rocky Bear. Rocky Bear is a Cavapoo who will celebrate his first birthday this month. Rocky loves play time, especially fetching his yellow ball. Rocky also loves to play with his older sister, Lottie Bubbles, whenever she allows it. The moment you arrive home, Rocky is there to greet you, jumping to say hi. Rocky, an avid Philadelphia sports fan, enjoys rooting for the Eagles, 76ers, and Phillies.
