As we wrap up May and Chip Your Pet Month, it’s the perfect time for a quick reminder: microchips save lives. 🐾

A microchip is one of the easiest and most effective ways to help lost pets find their way back home safely and quickly. Whether your pet is an indoor explorer, escape artist, or outdoor adventurer, accidents happen - and proper identification matters.

📍 Don’t forget: a microchip only works if your information is up to date! Make sure your current phone number, address, and contact information are registered with the microchip company and updated anytime changes occur.

Ready to protect your pet for life?
📞 Call us at (760) 753-9393 or use the link in our bio to book a microchipping appointment today.

☀️🐾 Heat safety matters more than many pet parents realize - especially during warmer Southern California days. From hot sidewalks to parked cars, pets can overheat much faster than humans.

➡️ Swipe through to learn heat safety tips, breeds more at risk, warning signs of overheating, and how quickly cars can become dangerously hot.

Keep your pets safe this season by:
- Avoiding walks during peak heat hours
- Providing plenty of fresh water and shade
- Watching closely for signs of heat exhaustion or heatstroke
- Never leaving pets in parked vehicles - even “just for a minute”

🚨 Signs of heatstroke can include excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, difficulty breathing, weakness, collapse, or bright red gums/tongue.

If you suspect your pet may be overheating or experiencing heat exhaustion or heatstroke, seek veterinary care immediately. The Drake Center is open 7 days a week and offers urgent and emergency veterinary services for pets in need.

📞 Call us right away at (760) 753-9393 if you are concerned about your pet.

🐱 Is your cat constantly scratching, overgrooming, losing hair, or dealing with irritated skin? Allergies could be the cause.

Many people are surprised to learn that cats can suffer from allergies just like dogs and humans. Allergies in cats can be linked to fleas, environmental triggers, or even food sensitivities - and symptoms often show up through itching, hair loss, scabs, skin irritation, or excessive grooming.

Did you know flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) is one of the most common allergic skin conditions in cats? Even a single flea bite can trigger intense discomfort in sensitive cats. That’s why consistent flea prevention is so important - even for indoor cats. 🐾

💙 Don’t forget - our Bravecto instant rebate promotion is still going on, but ends soon! Save on flea and tick prevention while helping protect your pet from discomfort caused by flea-related allergies and skin irritation.

While allergies cannot typically be “cured,” many cats can live happy, comfortable lives with proper veterinary guidance, monitoring, and treatment during flare-ups. Treatment plans may include:
🐾 Consistent flea prevention
🥣 Diet changes or food trials
💊 Medications or allergy management plans
🩺 Veterinary-guided skin and coat care

If your cat seems itchy, uncomfortable, or is grooming more than usual, don’t ignore the signs - early intervention can make a huge difference in their comfort and quality of life ✨
