🐾 A little life news for some of our doctors!

Dr. DeLong just got married this past weekend and so she will be out of the office for the next couples weeks on her honeymoon! 💍🏝️

Dr. Duff will also be gone for the next few months as she is on maternity leave! 🍼

Congrats to both of them and their families!

That being said we will be short doctors here over the next couple weeks so please bear with us when we are scheduling. Our staff will be triaging cases so we can see more emergent cases first and non-emergent cases may be scheduled out a couple days. We appreciate your understanding as our doctors are also just regular people with home lives and deserve to spend some time with their loved ones during these big life events. 🐾

We are in the heat of summer and heat stroke is a risk for all dogs, especially dogs that are primarily indoors and not accustomed to the heat. Humidity like we have seen recently only increases the risk. Please avoid exercise during the hottest hours of the day, even a walk can cause some dogs to overheat. Higher risk dogs include those with shorter noses or thick hair coats. If you think your dog is suffering a heat stroke, move to a cooler location, wet body down with cool (NOT cold) water, place a fan blowing on your pet, offer small amounts of cool water and call your vet ASAP. It is also wise to keep a thermometer on hand to take your pets temperature if needed. Normal re**al temperature for dogs ranges from approximately 99-102 degrees Fahrenheit. Stay cool during this summer heat and protect your dogs from heatstroke.
