The sand flies (black flies) are back in action! Don't worry if you see these red spots on your dogs abdomen. They will go away with time and typically only cause slight discomfort. Puppies and dogs new to the area may have a stronger reaction and sometimes do need medication to help swelling resolve, but that is rare.

We sell do dog friendly insect repellent that can certainly help!

Important Vaccination Reminder!

Please review your dog’s vaccination history and join us in keeping our patients healthy! 🐾💕

Vaccinations for diseases like parvo virus and distemper are so effective, most veterinarians rarely see active cases of these diseases. These canine viruses are persistent in the environment and cycle through wild canid populations regularly. Ensuring your dogs are current on these vaccinations is very important. We have recently seen a few devastating cases of parvovirus among dogs that were either not vaccinated or vaccinated with vaccinations purchased at a feed store and may have been mishandled or expired. Puppies should have their puppy exams and vaccines at 8, 12, and 16 weeks of age. It is fairly common for us to have puppy owners hear from the breeder that a pup is “all up to date” and 8 weeks and not realize they need vet visits and vaccines at 12 and 16 weeks of age. Please review your dog’s vaccinations and join us in keeping our patients healthy! 🐾💕
