We are Hiring!

Ely Veterinary Care has an opening for a Veterinary Assistant or Nurse/Technician! Both full and part time positions will be considered. Our ideal candidate would have previous veterinary and/or animal husbandry experience, but this is not required. Duties include scheduling appointments using practice management software, starting medical records, dog and cat restraint for exams, anesthesia monitoring, filling prescriptions, doing treatments on hospitalized patients, being placed on a rotating emergency on-call schedule, daily cleaning tasks, etc. Hourly pay is dependent on experience. We wanted to let our clients know that our clinic is located in Zone 3 of the Ward Mountain fire watch. We have been placed in the "Level 1 - Ready" status. We are currently taking appointments, but in order to look out for the safety of our patients, clients, and staff, we are rescheduling surgeries at this time in case we are placed in either the "Level 2 - Set" or "Level 3 -Go" status in the near future where we may have to evacuate at a moments notice. Each day, we will be calling clients whose pet(s) are on our schedule for the following day to let them know a plan in case our status changes.

We are so thankful for the efforts of our firemen, pilots, EMS personnel, and law enforcement officers!

Thanks to all who came out to attend the Paint Your Pet event to raise funds for the White Pine Critter Fix Program. We had a great time with some talented folks! We’d also like to extend our appreciation to Granny Lou’s Cookies for doing their cookie fundraiser, First Baptist Church of Ely for letting us borrow tables and chairs, and Nancy Riedell Fine Arts for hosting us!
