Today my friend and mentor, Alexandra Kurland passed away unexpectedly. I am still trying to get my mind around the fact that she is gone. She was such an important part of my life for many years and I hear her in my head whenever I am with the horses.

While I saw her many times over the years, I rarely thought to take a picture but I took this one of her and Robin when I visited her in 2012 at her new barn in NY. She was SO excited to finally have a place of her own. She loved being able to spend as much time as she wanted with her beloved horses and having people come to visit and see the magic.

I hope to write a proper tribute when I have had time to process this. In the meantime, I hope she is reunited with Peregrine and all her other animal and human friends.
