4 weeks old Prim and Peda these 2 are fighters! They started their life off with the odds stacked against them. Born in the dirt under my container a rescue mission ensued to get them out 24 hrs after they were born which involved a lot of digging and a grabber tool to reach them and pull them out. Once we had them out their mouths and noses had to be flushed because of the amount of dirt that was in them. We then placed them back with Dolly in the house where I realized something was not right with her I immediately called the vet and made a flying trip to town which concerned my greatest fear Dolly had retained a pup they preformed emergency surgery which ended in spaying Dolly making this her last litter. While she was recovering we bottle fed the pups which continued for several weeks while Dolly’s milk supply came up. Peda caught on to nursing right away while Prim still needed support. I’m so happy to report they are doing well now and are starting to find their personalities. 4-6 weeks is my favorite time!

With this being the last litter for Dolly and Conway at this point we plan to keep both of them!

Last but certainly not least is my Lettie.

She is the baby on the ranch at just over a year old she is still learning the ropes but she has a lot of natural instincts and is literally the best family dog I could ask for. Lettie is out of Dolly and Festus ( who is a Snoopy x Pursey pup) my oldest daughter has bonded with her the same way she did Pursey and we see a lot of Pursey in Miss Lettie we can’t wait to see her continue to grow and hopefully raise beautiful babies just like her momma Dolly and grandma Pursey

Life got busy… only 2 dogs left up next is my Hank man!!!

This dog is all business when your around cows and boy is he fun to watch. He is naturally a head dog which comes from the Chili line but we have worked hard on balancing and I’m very happy with how he works. Hank is my main stud and has fathered litters both with dogs I own and outside dogs all have been exceptionally pup.

Video of Hank working this spring in the comments.

Next up is our very pregnant momma dog Dolly Blue Jean. Dolly is now 4 years old and this will be her 4th litter. Dolly is my spoiled princess who believes her down time should be spent inside and if I go anywhere she must go with me! She goes everywhere 90mph. She loves to work cows and is a wonderful momma. She is due May 12th and is bred to my Conway who unfortunately passed away this spring so we are very excited for this litter!

Any guesses on how many she will have?

Oh Mr. Cash Money, you are my oldest male now! He will be 8 in October, it seems like just yesterday we were picking you up from the airport. Cash lives for attention and still believes he is a 60lb lap dog and that hugs are a must! He will work cows if asked but must start the day by running into the middle of the herd just to make sure all the cows know he is there lol! 😂 Cash is primarily retired from breeding as his high drive wouldn’t match my high drive female.

With puppies coming in the next few weeks I thought it would be fun to reintroduce the dogs of Shoemaker Border Collies. Over the next few days we will go oldest to youngest.

First up is out miss Betty💕

Betty will be 9 in July she is a Snoopy x Pursey pup! She is retiring from breeding after 2 litter the last of which resulted in an emergency C-section. She enjoys spending her day keeping her sheep and goats in line and the occasional game of fetch!
