We're a surrender-intake shelter providing adoption, humane education, and advocacy for dogs and cats in the Southern Tier. The Chemung County SPCA celebrated its 125th year of operation in 2016, making it the oldest animal shelter in Chemung County. What We Do:

Casper, a 12 year old white, male, indoor cat with extra toes got out of his house through the screen door on Thursday evening (6/12/26) when he went after another cat that was on his porch. He lives on Woodland Way in Horseheads (off SIng Sing Rd/Barnes Hill).

If you see him, please call 607-481-9651 to help get him home.

Tucker is a local 1 year old Terrier Mix who is searching for a patient owner. He needs some gentle guidance to help him come out of his shell and blossom into the best boy ever! He is very sweet, eager to learn, and enjoys going on nice long walks. Tucker is looking for a home where he will be loved and spoiled the way he deserves. He is choosy with his dog friends, not sure about cats, and would be good with kids 10+ (could go lower with a meet and greet).
