It's a bittersweet ending and I honestly can't believe this chapter of my life is closing. Please keep in touch as I will miss all of your babies SO much! It's officially one month until I have to say goodbye to all of your fur kiddos. 😭 I wanted to share this post from a fellow pet sitter in Cherokee County. I've never seen a truer post about why I am SO picky about my referrals! This job isn't just looking after cute little fuzz balls, it requires a lot of knowledge and experience to be able to FULLY care for a living being. 📚 That means being fully equipped to deal with any situation/emergency that may arise. ‼️

I have had my fair share of experiences with different animals that requires me to read behavior and think on my feet. 🏃‍♀️ All of that to say: please ask the difficult questions and vet your pet sitters carefully. 🤔❓️

✅️ Do they know how to make a fearful dog comfortable/not let them escalate into aggression? 😨🤗 Can they read and recognize body language across all of the species they are watching? 🧐👀 Do they know what to do with the information the animal is trying to communicate to them? 👂 Can they recognize colic/lameness/distress signs in large animals/livestock? 🤕🐎🐖🐮

These are your babies and I wish I could do this forever because it's something I'm truly passionate about. 🫶🏻 I was that kid that sat in front of the TV and watched PBS documentaries and Animal Planet just to soak up any/all information I could about these wonderful creatures we are blessed to have in our lives. 🤓 I don't say any of this to discourage anyone because you found your way to me so I believe that there is someone else in our area that is fully capable of caring for your fur babies, but this post was too accurate not to share as well as my thoughts to go along with it! 💬
