Ellie Update!!!
Some video of our big ring work this week!

Ellie's first 30 days couldn't have gone better! This mare is really willing to work and learn and be someone's new best friend!

Shes starting to balance herself at the walk and jog and learn to give to one rein. Her single rein stop works great! Every horse should have a good emergency break!

We've been cruising around the big ring on a loose rein so she can feel free to move forward and find her rhythm. She has a lovely stop on her and enjoys low and slow. I could see her becoming a great western mare!!!

Ellie Update.
First of all I do apologize for not sharing as much as I did the first couple of weeks. It's been a very busy couple of weeks and I have so little space on this phone.

That doesn't mean we haven't been right on track though!

Ellie is doing fantastic, walking and jogging well under saddle now, starting to bend better and lift into the upward transitions a little better, this is why I love slow work for muscle build up and stabilizing balance before we ask for anything else.

Today we played down in the big ring, all by ourselves!!! Last time I brought her down here she had some other horses working in the ring, today it was just us, and after a few moments of looking around and being unsure, she relaxed and went through all her cues like a champ.

I wanted to go through all the groundwork and cues she's learned so far to prepare for our first ride in the big ring. Building trust with things the horse knows in a new environment can make all the difference!
